A minute is all he needs to bring everything back. He holds his black parasol against the rain as he trudges forward. He stops midway when he sees her. She stretches her arms and yawns. She smiles at the summer rain that drops on her palm. She turns on her heels and walks back to the coffee shop.
Myungsoo feels a tug in his heart. He misses her. He knows he shouldn’t be looking for her. She had her normal life back now. Mindlessly, he walks inside the shop and the sweet aroma of brewing coffee welcomes him. He props himself on a seat beside the counter. He watches her with intent eyes while she serves the other customers. Their memories flood his mind. He blinks back tears as he tries to remember. She hasn’t change, he says to himself sadly.
Cool breeze brushes their hair as they walk down the empty sidewalks of Seoul. They hold each other’s hands and talk about infinite things - from the dog of Myungsoo’s neighbor to the four-leaf clover that they found at the park earlier. He halts and looks up at the stars. She does the same when chromatic lights reflect on her features. Her face lightens up while she watches the fireworks before her eyes. She feels her hands being tugged just as she focuses on Myungsoo’s hands.
He kneels before her and fishes for a box in his jacket pocket.
“Will you marry me?” He asks when he opens the box. A ring lies on its velvet fabric. Embedded on it is a symbol like two circles beside each other - infinite. It catches some light from the fireworks that makes it look like it glows in the dark.
“Myungsoo,” She starts to say. She hardly stares at it for a second. She looks away and stares at the bleak side of the road. “I’m sorry. I love you.”
He hears the deafening sound of car horns and wheels screeching.
“What’s your order, Sir?” A waitress beams at him.
“One black coffee, please.” He replies in a monotone. The waitress nods and walks off.
He feels the ring bear holes in his palms. He opens up his hand and stares at the ring. He cannot just walk in her life again. He swore to himself never to show up to her again. He doesn’t break promises. Not until today.
He stands up abruptly, making his chair move several inches. He breathes in and out rapidly. He puts the ring on the table and toddles away.
“Sir!” A high-melodic voice cries. “You forgot your ring. And your order, too. You haven’t paid yet.”
He spins to look at her. He gulps all the fears and affection. He sees her eyes widen at him.
“That’s yours.” He replies.
“You- You look familiar.”
A trickle of tear falls from his eyes. He gasps all the air he needs slowly.
“I loved you. I still do.”
He turns away and paces out of the shop. He opens his black umbrella and perches it on his shoulder. He strolls the sidewalk once more as he tries to forget.
a/n: This is inspired by the 60 Sec M/V. Yeah, really. I just really need this in my life. Myungsoo and the girl there are just so cute. They have the spark. Ugh. #jellyjelly
