fun with bills, and other fine stories

Nadine and I just went in the red again, and the Church is about to. It's very difficult when little money is coming in. Being in full health would help as well. It seems like my 30th birthday will prove to be quite interesting this Saturday.

Hopefully, the ad in the Houston Press will pay off for our on-site recording studio in the next couple of weeks. That ad alone is upwards of $150 a week. The average turn-around on an ad is about 2 weeks. It wouldn't take much to pay our bills, but the studio has been vacant since November. There are a lot of flaky people out there; a few really cool ones, but a lot of "that sounds awesome!" and then you never see or hear from them again.

In a way, I'm just venting. If you can help, please do. I no longer freak out about it, which is nice, yet I still find it frustrating. Mainly, we ask for your thoughts and prayers.

Cornerstone Music Fest is also coming up next month, and we were asked to conduct a 3-day seminar on Spiritual Abuse, Hebraic Roots, and Rethinking Church. We're trying to raise about $2000 to be able to go (flight, car rental, tickets, food, Nadine's Birthday and our 3rd Anniversary). Only 50 hours booked in the studio each month would pay our bills and allow us to travel as we build up our speaking engagements and the like. It would also serve to help build up the studio further. Effective marketing is extremely difficult on a shoe-string budget.

Know anyone in need of a professional quality on-site recording (demo, album, mix-down, voiceover, spots, keyboard work, beats, mastering, etc...)??
