[Fanfic] A Beautiful Mess (Prologue)
PROLOGUE
“Yana unnie!!!” Screams a hoard of young girls behind that metal barrier separating them from their idol, some are even crying in amazement.
“Yana-chan!!! Suki da yo!!” Some group of men confess in their best Japanese accent as they wave their colorful fan banners and uchiwas.
This is mad. Izumi Yana thought to herself as she witness how Korean fans are going crazy over her. The flock of fans are estimated four thousand people as reported by the staff earlier, they are compressed in this small hall that can only occupy three thousand.
The host began talking in Korean in which she doesn’t understand. The translator behind her starts explaining everything but she can’t quite comprehend because the screaming is getting louder and louder.
The host, who was introduced to her as Boom earlier backstage, turns to her and it seems like he’s asking something. She moves closer to her translator to hear what she’s saying but all that she heard was ‘turn up of fans’.
She faces her enormous audience and smiled, they all went crazy again. “Ano… I’m very shocked and impressed by everyone who came to see my showcase today. I didn’t know Korean fans support me this much. I’m very thankful to every one of you. My first trip to Korea will surely be memorable because of everyone’s happy faces. Maybe next time we can all meet in a bigger venue and hopefully I will be able give you a full length concert. Kamsahamnida.” She gave the fans a sincere smile as she ends her sentence in their language. Her translator began interpreting everything she said in Korean and the crowd screams like mad once she ended talking.
Boom, the show’s host, began talking again and all she did was smile and wave to everyone. Her translator whispered that it’s time for today’s first performance and she saw her back-up dancers slowly entering the stage.
“Let’s all have some fun today!” Yana screams in English and the crowd began to hype up. “Let me see those booties dancing, come on!” The upbeat intro of her new single, Kuru Tsu Ta Ai, which roughly translates to Crazy Love, began playing and she’s beginning to get hype as well as she sways her hips to the beat. She starts singing the first verse, much to her surprise, everyone started to sing-along. “Korean fans, saikou!!!” She yelled in astonishment and fans continue singing, some are even dancing along with the limited space they have.
After performing five songs and getting interviewed a little more, Izumi Yana’s Korean Showcase is finally over.
“That crowd is mad, Eri-chan!” Yana exclaims as soon as she saw her manager backstage. “We should go back soon and give them something bigger than this. They deserve it!” she’s obviously in a very good mood.
“I’m sure the bosses will keep that in mind.” Eri replied, she’s very happy too. “According to security, about a thousand fans are gathered outside because they can’t accommodate them inside anymore. Your Korean fan base is no joke, Yana. And I’m sure it’ll grow even bigger after this.”
“That’s why we need to come back!” Yana insisted, shaking Eri by her arm. Yana can be very persistent if she wants something, Eri knows this very well.
“We’re coming back, that’s for sure. There’s a big possibility that Seoul will be added to your summer tour next year, along with stops in Shanghai and Taipei.” Eri assures her. “Isn’t that exciting?” she looks at Yana who’s obviously grinning from ear to ear.
“That’s amazing, Eri-chan!” Yana grins as she throws her arm around Eri. “Now, it’s time to party.” She whispers, there’s a playful tone in her voice. “Good thing, Jae and Yoochun are here, we have someone to party with.” She winks. Eri just let out a little laugh and starts shaking her head.

“That girl is conquering the world, isn’t she?” Sakurai Sho said in exaggeration as the morning news reported that super idol Izumi Yana held a successful showcase in Seoul.
The five boys of Arashi are in their dressing room waiting for a go signal to start their concert rehearsal.
“Didn’t she just debut late last year? Now she’s even bigger than us and to think we’re celebrating our tenth anniversary.” Ninomiya Kazunari pointed out.
“And she’s quite young too.” Arashi’s leader, Ohno Satoshi added. “Twenty-five years old.”
“Apparently, she’s too busy to even guest in our shows.” Aiba Masaki informs them. “I heard from the Himutsu staff that they are trying to guest her in VIP Room for the longest time but her schedule can’t fit in, same goes with Shukudai."
The youngest member, Matsumoto Jun, is smiling to himself at how his members seem to gossip about this girl. Flipping through the magazine in his hand, their topic suddenly gazes upon him, he began studying her picture. She’s indeed pretty, no doubt. The round brown eyes, the prominent nose, that full-plump lips, high cheek bones, and the gorgeous smile along with the deep dimples, she’s like a goddess taken out from a story book. Her acting prowess, it’s good, he has watched a few episodes of her debut drama and he must say it’s outstanding for a first timer. Her singing talent, amazing, he even thought that she’s so much better than the whole AKB48 combined.
“It’s amazing how her popularity isn’t affected with the bad publicity she’s gaining these days.” Aiba wondered.
The downside, as Matsumoto Jun thinks, the tabloid claims that the super idol is a wild child. She’s frequenting the gossip magazines always every week, reporting about her supposed obsessive partying and drinking.
“I heard she grew up abroad, maybe that’s why she’s a bit American with her actions.” Sho commented.
“I saw her last week in this bar I went with the drama staff and she’s with Akanishi and their friends. I must say she’s pretty wasted.” Nino recalls. “She was introduced to me by Yamashita but I doubt if she even remembers, she’s so drunk she’s even talking to me in English.” Laughter erupts in the room.
“Eh? Why English all of sudden?” Matsumoto Jun finally joined their conversation.
“I dunno.” Nino shrugged his shoulders. “I told her I don’t speak English but she still keeps on talking in words I don’t understand so I just smiled the whole time.” He lets out his distinct laughter.
“Weird.” Sho commented while laughing.
“That night, she’s getting a bit cosy with Nishiki. Lucky guy!” Nino can’t hide his discontentment. Seeing her for the first time that night, she’s totally his type. If she wasn’t all that touchy with Nishikido Ryo, he has probably made his move on her.
“Ehhh?” Aiba widened his eyes in surprise. “Hontou ni?” he asks.
“Umm.” Nino murmurs while nodding his head.
“Knowing those guys, they never keep a steady girlfriend anyways. You can have your chance, Nino.” Jun teased. Knowing Nino and by the look on his face while talking about her moments with Ryo, Jun knew that Izumi Yana has captured Nino’s attention.
“But thinking about it, having her as a girlfriend is too troublesome.” Nino stated. “She’s busier than we are and she goes crazy when drunk. I bet she goes drinking most of the time since she’s friends with Akanishi.” The four Arashi members nodded in agreement.
A single knock on the door disturbed them and came in one of their managers. “Time for rehearsal.” He informed them. They all stood up and headed out of the room, cutting their conversation.
