8. A Moment, in great detail.

Oh man, so many memories. Lots of good ones, some not so great ones.

I remember being 10 or so, I think I was in fourth grade. I came home from school and it was a particularly hot day. I wore orange shorts and a t-shirt and some brown sandals my mom used to wear. I was never the girl who dressed nicely. Anyway, came home (we used to live in an apartment building) and found my sister (no more than 3 or so at the time) and neighbor sitting on the stairs. She was a really nice old lady and my sister really loved her. But I'll never forget what she said to me, "My, your thighs are so big." And then she said something in Spanish, I'm sure to the same message but ever since then, I've always been super aware of my size.

Granted, I was never skinny but I was never fat either. But until that moment, I had never even given my image a second thought. For fucks sake, I was 10.

I have nicer memories but I think this one explains a lot of what I'm going through with my weight right now. And just goes to show my life's not all peachy like it's seemed in the past week.
