Wow, that was the best night of baseball I've watched since Joe Carter's walk off. Crazy

Update: it really was a pretty epic evening of baseball. I was glad I had cable, as I switched b/w the three wild card contender games. (I didn't get the St. Louis game, but it was the only one that wasn't interesting.) But what was particularly cool was the excitement of the Orioles and their fans at upsetting the Red Sox. As the guys on ESPN noted, it was as if they'd just won the World Series instead of merely upping their win total from 68 to 69.  To understand the jubilant reaction , you have to understand that Red Sox fans have been taking over Camden Yards every time the Red Sox come to town. If listening to a Red Sox-Os game in Camden Yards during the last decade, you wouldn't guess that the Os were the home team. So when the Os beat the Red Sox with some excellent defense and by beating up on their cocky ace reliever, it felt like a huge gush of payback for all the years of getting owned in their own park by the other team's fans.
