M*A*S*H. It was the first show to have SUCH a lasting effect on me [it's possible due South is the only other one]. I love it on so many levels, for so many different, multi faceted reasons. One minute I can laugh until there's tears and the next I'm crying until there's none left. There was never a character I didn't love, or love to hate. There was plenty of episodes I would leave, but the good ones are so good they make up for it.

It brought me new ideas on war, and love, and family; on poverty and hunger and helplessness; on regret and sacrifice. On HATE. On the absolute WASTE of fear and hate and self importance and GOD. It just. It didn't open my eyes to a beautiful world, it opened them up to the real one and I love it for that. I love it for these big, amazing things, and I love it for all the little ones. Like BJ in Dear Sigmund, or Radar in The Most Forgettable Characters. Mulcahy in Dear Sis, or the last scene in Follies of the Living, Concerns of the Dead.
