<3 Hey, thank you for writing such lovely things at that fanficton love meme, guys. If you didn't, thanks for commenting or reading my stories in the past. If you didn't, thanks for reading this. Thanks just for letting me have my little slice of the world, and helping me believe that I can do some good with it. It's not an easy thing to believe, ( Read more... )

fun and games, it's beginning to look a lot like, 'love' doesn't cover it, the real thing, the one with the canadian mountie

it's kind of incesty, marrying someone who is basically your mom

THANK YOU.

You didn't ask, but you're the only one who would so I'm going to fill out the meme for due South anyway. Sorry!

THREE [HAHA] CANON THINGS I LOVE:

1] The 'language' that Fraser shares with Diefenbaker.
2] Bob Fraser's ghost.
3] Vecchio going undercover and being replaced with Kowalski.
4] BUDDY BREATHING. BOBBING FOR TROUT. YOU EVER FEEL LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW WHO YOU ARE? LIKE, IF YOU WEREN'T AROUND SOMEBODY OR SOMEBODY WASN'T AROUND YOU THAT YOU WOULDN'T BE YOU, AT LEAST NOT THE YOU THAT YOU THINK YOU ARE.

THREE CANON THINGS I HATE [DON'T LIKE]:

1] Fraser/Thatcher.
2] The fact that Fraser lived in the Consulate for the last two years.
3] I've always thought that the time between Louis dying and Dewey arriving was kind of ... cold, and unlike due South.

THREE FANON THINGS I LOVE:

1] Fraser and Ray get together post COTW, during The Adventure. God, I love that.
2] The turtle getting POVs or cameos.
3] I don't know! Canon basically gives me everything, with the exception of them ~being together. I love when they dance together, and when Fraser's completely emotionally open with Ray and when Fraser is completely relaxed and when ... I don't know. Everything.

THREE FANON THINGS I HATE [DON'T LIKE]:

1] I don't hate it, but the idea that Ray has like, disabilities, and that's why he has trouble with words. Meh, I don't like it. I mean, he does correct Frannie with things a lot. SLIVER ME TIMBERS. Shake your booty.
2] Ray/Ray, because a Ray without his Fraser is basically a TV without it's due South. Seriously.
3] Ray calling Fraser 'Ben'.

TWO THINGS OF MY PERSONAL CANON:

1] I've always believed that Fraser would be a really, really hot lover. Hahaha, seriously. I love stories that deal with him being like, animalistic, in bed. I didn't mean for this meme to go NC17 but it's true.
2] They get together on the adventure and move up to Canada. It just, works for me, moreso than Fraser going back to Chicago, again, and having that void. I think Fraser fills any void Ray may have had, and in the end it wouldn't matter where he lives.

First of all, NEVER apologize for talking about Due South. I could post about a butterfly I saw today and you could write me a drabble in which Fraser takes Kowalski butterfly catching. It's always relevant to my interests. =)

And OH GOD, 'Ben.' Jesus Christ do I hate that version of his name. Doesn't Victoria call him Ben? See, I guess it comes from writers thinking that Kowalski using Fraser's last name intimately is weird, or that they want a pet name like how Vecchio calls him 'Benny', but my rule is, if it's not said in canon, don't use it. God, they can at least have him earn the nickname, like call him Fraser most of the fic and maybe, just maybe, he can say 'Ben' once every blue moon. But I'd still frown heavily at it.

And finally, I so concur with your last point. Really, what does Ray have to go back to? He went undercover to get away from his old life, so nothing is really permanent where he's from. Sure he's got his parents, but he hardly saw them for years and it's established that, even though he cares about them, they just don't have that same dynamic that Vecchio's family has. I even had a hard time believing Vecchio moved to Florida, until I realized that in Victoria's Secret, his family was going to Florida for some reason, so I imagine he has even more family there, so he's not really leaving as he is going to another part of the family. Kowalski has a broken marriage, his landlady admits that he's quiet and keeps to himself, and in CotW he was all out of sorts when he no longer had Vecchio's life to live and was back to being just Kowalski. It all just fits.

God, I really need to post more about Due South because I keep giving long ass comments like this in your journal. :P
