In any trope, characterization is important to me, and Jim's characterization is something I find particularly important. I like seeing how he reacts to difficult situations, so... what could be more fun than throwing him into an exceedingly difficult situation and trying to make an honest play at how he would react? (I'm so mean to him.) The dynamics of the Jim/Bones relationship is important, too... and I don't normally write them in a typical romantic relationship. In fact, I tend to write them as exceedingly close-knit friends, not romantic partners, so this is yet another deviation from my norm. But I DO ship them, and I'm having a lot of fun with it!
Hopefully, we can do justice to the story line for the rest of this fic!
