Bones WTH are you doing? Stop lying and hiding things from Jim. >:( That is the entirely wrong thing to do. And I'm dying to find out who notified Jim's mother.

Our dear characters make a lot of mistakes. Communication failures are just some of them. Poor Bones - he's trying!

IIIIIT WAAAAAAS ROMANOOOOOOOO

Lemme think... 30% chance it was Terra Prime on their own. 10% chance it was Romano on his own. 55% chance it was Romano working for or with Terra Prime. and 5% chance that it wasn't any of that. although 5% seems rather high...

the way you phrased "someone told his mom. and someone was replying...", and then the second someone is Pike? makes me think Pike told Mom.

And it all makes me think I need to keep reading...

The repeated "someone" was all supposed to refer to Pike. It was Jim's inner voice being sarcastic.

As for whodunnit... we'll have to let you find out on your own!

I love the idea of the osteo treatments and the boiled cellular treatments and all the amazing tech that gets Jim healed in two weeks instead of six months. It'll be amazing when it happens. But as much as I want Jim back to new, I like the forcefield hip brace. It feels realistic that he would ease out of the hospital with some help.

And Romano! I just know he's got something to do with all this.

I've seen two approaches to medical technology in Star Trek fics. Either everything is fixed instantly, or healing still takes forever. I wanted to show something that seemed more... balanced. That Jim wouldn't just walk out of Starfleet Medical the next day, bouncing around with no residual injury, but it also wouldn't be nearly as bad as what would happen if he were injured like that today.

Aaaaah, Romano. Villain, or red herring? I'm so evil.

*boiled* should be biobed, stupid autocorrect.

I think that you've got a good balance going between the two.

Haha, yes you are. :)

The writing's incredible, and you've really got an impressive grasp on the characters and the world, but everyone's already told you that.

I just had to say - LOVE the girdle reference.

*blushes* No, not everyone has told me that, to be honest. And it really means a lot to me when people share their thoughts on my writing. I'm really glad you're enjoying it!

And yeah, I couldn't resist the girdle reference.

I hope you let me know what you think once you've read the whole story!
