A/N: Have fun reading! I'll try to update faster. ^^

FROM CHAPTER 5:

After that incident, every girl in the campus was waiting for Kris Wu. He changed a lot from his hairstyle to his lifestyle. He was studying, aced his exams, didn’t bully anymore and didn’t fight anymore. It was a drastic change and everyone, even the teachers, was satisfied about it. He applied for the basketball team and he passed. He was then put into special training since the school’s regional was only a month away.

With that, Kris became the new talked about persona in the campus, “The new heartthrob and the most influential person,” as it was written in their paper

Naoko was happy and she would watch him play after school. She was not sure, but she knew, that since the day she replied to him, everything changed about Kris, and it was for the better.

“OH MY GOD! KRIS-OPPA!!!”

“KRIS-GEGE!!!”

“KRIS-SUNBAENIM, KYAAAAH~”

It’s already the start of anew semester and, with it, nothing really much changed. Well, that’s for Kris in this situation. He was undeniably the newest love interest of everyone (yes, there are boys stalking him, too).

For him, he thought that he can play with any girl in school, and even make them ‘sort-of’ his slaves for one day, so that he can have anything he wants. But, unfortunately, that was not the case. He did not change to have that kind of life back. With no remaining connections from Geom Saja High, he was now a free and new man.

He finally reinvented himself.

“So, what’s your opinion about it, since you’re the class president?”

Naoko just munched her lunch and shook her head. She did not want to interfere with any business regarding Kris. She was, yes, happy and really comfortable with ‘new’ Kris Wu, but there was definitely odd about it.

She knew that her text message was part of it, but it wasn’t the main thing. She knew that there was something with Kris that he keeps within him and just shuts up about it. She just doesn’t want to ask, since it wasn’t her business.

“Naoko-san,” Sungmin tried to convince her with aegyo, “my pwetty pwetty best fwend, pwease tell me, what do you think about Kwis?”

Naoko laughed and almost dropped her water bottle. She still shook her head and kept her silence. She did bid farewell, though, and tried to escape the commotion of her fellow classmates who were insisting interviewing her.

Since classes were suspended after lunch, she decided to go up the rooftop. As she opened the door, she sighed for she missed the place.

“Class president, is that you?”

Naoko’s heart fluttered and the beating began pumping faster. He was there.

“What… What are you doing here?”

“Nothing,” Kris went towards her, “do you want to eat this? I really am stuffed.”

She looked at the food and saw that it was actually made for him. It was obvious because of some heart-shaped rice cakes, and Kris’ name all over the bento box.

“You actually have creative fans, kid.”

“No, not really,” he smiled and sat at the corner. She then followed him and sat beside him and ate the food.

“Y’know, it’s really not my business to ask this, but, what happened?”

“Nothing much. Just, how do you call it? Inspiration…”

Naoko just formed an ‘O’ shaped with her mouth and nodded. She continued eating when, suddenly, Kris’ took her hand and clasped it on his cheeks. She was startled for a second, only to look at him for the first time in months.

He wasn’t wearing contacts anymore. His eyes, as dark as the night, without any light, his facial structure, still the same, but his cheeks were fluffier than before, his hairstyle and hair color, clean cut like a man serving for the army and black, not blond, like how she depicted him as a bad boy. He grew paler because he doesn’t really go outside. He was always inside the gymnasium, practicing basketball for months.

“Kris, that text message,” Naoko started, “well…”

“Well, what, Naoko?”

“I…”

“What?”

“Mean it. I mean it. Those words, I said those words without any hesitation. I just know, and I mean it.”

Kris, then, kissed her lips and hugged her. Naoko began to cry. He hugged her tighter and could feel her heart thumping like there’s no tomorrow.

“I promised you,” he said, “nothing will happen anymore to you. Just, be with me, do you understand?”

“Y-yes…”

“C’mon, I’ll take you home.”

It was a little after nine in the evening when Kris went home. He was living all by himself, renting a nice flat near Gangnam. Nobody in school really knows where he lives, but because of the growing fan base he has in school, then there will be some sasaeng fans already.

But, his fans were the least of his problems. His real problem was he must get out immediately once someone he’s familiar with will recognize him and eventually tell ‘them’ wherein, unfortunately, was actually happening as of the moment.

A woman called out his name when he came in the building.

“What are you doing here?” He asked the woman sitting at the lobby of the apartment building. The woman rushed to him and hugged him. He didn’t do anything but let her have her time to be close to him.

“I thought you’re going back to Vancouver? Why are you here in Seoul?”

“Hey,” Kris said, “I never said I’m going there. If that man told you I’m going there, then he lied to you.”

“Kris, please,” the woman begged, “please, just go back to China. We, everyone, will be happy if you’ll go back. The family needs you.”

“Mama…”

“Kris, my son, think about your future.” She caressed his face and began to cry, “This is not your place, Kris. You, actually living here, don’t make any sense! You have a life in China. You are somebody there, you have a real life.”

“You mean, your future, mama, with that man.” He let go of her hands and pushed the elevator button, “look, I don’t hate him, nor I am going to stop you from marrying him. But, please, just let me be for now. I am studying, and I’m keeping my grades up. So please, stop bothering me for now.”

With that, he left his mother at the lobby and went to his apartment.

It was a boring day at school and Naoko was getting ready for the announcement of the top students for the past semester. No one really cared about it but when the bell rang for dismissal, most students cause traffic because of the posting of grades.

Everyone from Naoko’s class was satisfied since they were all included at the top 30 students for all sophomore students.

What came unexpectedly, though, was the top student of the sophomores. Naoko hurriedly looked at it with a big smile but when she saw the name, she didn’t know how to react.

“Kris-oppa?” said the student beside Naoko, “You were overthrown by Kris Wu?”

Naoko left the bulletin board and saw Kris going to the school gates, his school jacket on a hand over his shoulders.

“Hey! Kris,” Naoko came running to him. He turned and stopped. He looked at her with a worried face.

“When you make that face, it means something’s up. Let me see, someone took your place as the top student. Who is it? I can kick their asses for you.”

“Actually, it’s you.”

They both turned and saw a familiar face, but wearing the school uniform and a big smile. The other students saw that there was something going around Kris and the new guy.

Kris stood in front of him, towering him but the other guy didn’t fazed. He kept his smile and appeared to calm in front of him.

“So, how about an introduction, Kris Wu?”

“What if I don’t want to, Nichkhun Horvejkul?”

“Wait,” Naoko who squeezed between the two boys looked at them out of curiosity, “you… You know each other?”

“Let’s just say,” Nichkhun faced Naoko, “he’s a very important person for me.”

“And also,” Kris faced Naoko, too, “he’s the person I dread the most.”

“You never changed, giant,” Nichkhun patted Kris’ shoulder and went on his way.

“You never changed too, asshole.” Kris shouted back as Nichkhun wave his hand.
