FROM CHAPTER 3:
“Look,” Kris let go of her and opened the door, “if you have a problem with me, tell me and I’ll show up and give you a good night sleep. But if it’s about her, stop bothering yourself. You, people, are not the only friends that I have.”
With that, he left.
“What should we do now, Ayami?” asked one of the students who was smoking.
“I think,” Mashiro smiled, “we move on to plan B. He’s lying. He does feel for her, and so does she. We just need to push them both a little bit, until one of them falls on the cliff.”

“Naoko, I need you to stay with me for tonight,” said Mrs. Lee who was unpacking her bag. Naoko just get on with it and sat down.
She knew she listed as a student assistant for her scholarship but she hated it when teachers use her just only to check piles of test junks.
“I’m really sorry, Naoko,” her teacher smiled, “I won’t be that harsh on you, just for tonight since I’m too tired.”
“Okay, but I’ll try not to doze off,” Naoko said, as she began checking the test papers.
About two hours had passed and Naoko wasn’t even halfway. Mrs. Lee then told her to go home and she will finish it.
She didn’t bring her phone because she thought she would be home early so her parents might have been waiting for her. She decided to walk even though it was past eleven.
She tried to hum a song so that she won’t get frightened by the darkness the night offered. She knew that the corner of the street, where her house was, was pitched black. As she was searching for her flash light, a hand grabbed her arm. A knife was on the other and she tried not to panic.
“If you make any noise, doll, we will kill you.”
We… she looked around, shit, he’s not alone. Oh God please don’t do this to me.

“Come on, doll,” said one of the strangers. She was inside a van and the smell of hard liquor circled and the vehicle was running zigzag on the road. She kept her mouth shut and didn’t look up.
“Doll, if you scream my name, I swear, I’ll love you,” said the one in front of her. Eyes blindfolded and hands tied up, she still tried not to panic and just tried to keep silent. Deep inside, she was crying and was asking for forgiveness. If she was going to die on this trip to death’s mercy, she was crying out for mercy and for her sins to be forgiven. She couldn’t so anything.
The one on the left began lifting her cardigan and threw the handkerchief blinfolding her. It was no use since they were wearing masks. She didn’t stop him and just kept calm. She knew this would happen anyway. What else can she do? No one can hear her. No one can see her. And, most of all, no one can actually save her.
She prayed inside that these men will be forgiven. Nothing can stop her from doing that.
The one in front of her began kissing and pressing his tongue inside her.
Too much, please, don’t kill me, she cried within her thoughts, just use me but don’t kill me.
The one behind her started massaging her chest. Their laughs boomed the vehicle. The driver, she could see on the rear-view mirror, was looking at her. His eyes, she could sense pity and fear.
They were still undressing her when the driver stopped the vehicle instantly. The men then almost hit one another, except Naoko who was tied up.
“Holy shit,” the driver said, “it’s him. IT’S HIM!”
With the sound of the gunfire, the driver had said his last words. The people around the vehicle took a closer look. They saw the tall figure with blond hair.
“SHIT!”
The men got some of their knives and opened the sliding door, only to meet Kris’ bullets, firing their heads. Naoko, drenched with sweat, blood, and ejaculation, sat still and tried not to move much. Her skirt on the floor of the van, her blouse unbuttoned, and her prayers in her heart, she didn’t move an inch until she heard his voice.
“Naoko, I’m sorry.”
Then, she began to cry.
~o~
On their way to Naoko’s home, she was at the back of Kris’ vehicle and was changing into Kris’ clothes.
“Naoko-”
“I told you, I’m alive, and I’m breathing. You don’t have to say sorry over and over.”
“But it’s my fault,” Kris said as he stopped the car, “It’s my fault you were treated like that! It’s my fault for having a connection with you. It’s my fault!”
He was crying and rested his head on the steering wheel. He sobbed and repeatedly said “it’s my fault”. She leaned forward, and cupped his face. She wiped his tears and kissed his forehead.
“It’s not, okay? Just take me home.”
After 20 minutes, they arrived at a very large property within the street. Kris was surprised and faced her.
“Is this really your house?”
“Yes,” Naoko nodded, “too big, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. Gosh, you’re a princess.”
“No, don’t say that.”
“Fine, whatever.”
“Kris, what happened earlier, there’s one thing I want to ask you, though.”
“What is it?”
“Did you really kill them?”
“Yes. I was… That was… I can’t say… I just can’t… Now you know one of the reasons why I had to change schools within a year.”
“So, you were like that?”
“Naoko, I told you before,” Kris held her hand, “there are things that I want to say but it won’t be as what you expect. I am the bad guy. The villain, the criminal.”
“I guess… I’ll have to wait.”
Kris nodded and opened the car’s lock.
He watched as Naoko entered her house before starting his engine.
“He killed them,” said a man on the lamp post, smoking.
~o~
Mashiro couldn’t contain her anger and dialled a number on her phone.
“Burn it. NOW!”
The man on the lamp post then gave a signal and five more men appeared. They were about to scatter gasoline around the property when lights lit and alarms sounded.
Police cars came one by one and made a barricade to the six men. They fell on their knees and their hands placed behind their heads.
“So, who are you kids?”
“Sir, no one, please, sir,” shouted the man who was on the lamp post earlier.
“Let’s see,” one of the policemen grabbed their pockets. Knives, marijuana, a lighter, a pack of cigarettes, and identification cards were found, “What the… Geom Saja? THE Geom Saja High?”
“My god, kids these days. Get them inside the car.”
“Who were they officers?” Naoko’s father rushed outside to see the commotion. Naoko was with her mother on the front porch.
“No need to worry, Senator Kujo. This will be taken care of, and if you want, you can deliver your press charges tomorrow, although I’m pretty sure, you’ll be surprised.”
“What is it?”
“They are high school students, sir. From Geom Saja High.”
~o~
Naoko was half-awake when she heard the news from the morning newscast. Mashiro was arrested with the other students. It seems that they were in their 20’s and can be put in jail.
She grabbed her phone and saw a text message:
From: Kris Wu, 6:49AM
Your father is a senator?!
She smiled and replied:
To: Kris Wu, 6:51AM
Good morning to you, too.
