FROM CHAPTER 1:
“Okay, then,” he opened the door and slammed it.
Bipolar freak, her mind cried out.
As he closed the door, Kris just smiled.
Too cute…

“Naoko-san,” Sungmin rushed to Naoko’s side and looked at her, “where is he?”
“Uh, he must be at the cafeteria with his clique?”
“Wait, are we talking about the same person?”
“Don’t tell me you’re looking for ‘new-guy’ than your actual boyfriend?”
“Well,” Sungmin smirked and shrugged, “yeah, duh, ain’t obvious? He’s just a crush anyway. Someone to look at.”
“Thank you for that, Sungmin-sunbaenim.”
They both turn around with very weird faces and it was indeed Kris that spoke. Towering the both of them, he sliced down their path and put his headphones on again. Naoko tried not to laugh and just closed her eyes, thinking that she was not there. Sungmin, on the other hand, was actually smiling like a delusional fangirl.
“The hell’s wrong with you? He was actually sarcastic!”
“But, that voice…”
“Oh, shut up, Sungmin!”

It was already the fourth period and there was no sign of Kris. Naoko, being the class president, could not just let this go. She decided to go to the rooftop, even just to check. She opened the door sneakily and tried not to make too much noise. She looked at the area where they first talked and there was no sign of him.
“Looking for me?”
Naoko jumped and squealed. Kris put on his serious, devilish look, which was only a centimeter away from her face.
“What?”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN ‘WHAT?’ You actually scared me!”
“Uh,” Kris then turned about, “that’s obvious for sure. So, are you looking for me?”
“Y-yes-”
“Don’t stutter.”
“But-… But I can’t! Look I’m sorry I disturbed your damned sleep yesterday, and please get back to class?!”
“Apology,” he held her hand and kissed it, “accepted…”
Naoko pulled away and gave a disgusting look. She was actually happy in a way because he kissed her hand, but she was still disgusted on how he likes to play around her…even if it was only the second day.
“How could you do that?”
“Hey, look. I’m doing you a favor here, right? So, stop being bothered about me all the fucking time.”
She went towards the door and left. She wasn’t crying but she knew that she was indeed bothered about him. Worried was the right term, but not because of him, but because of the image of Class-B, and as president, she needs her classmates’ cooperation so that she can give a good image as the leader.
Kris went back to what he was really doing, sleeping. He cannot get his smile away, but somehow, he felt like a burden to her. He then decided to slack off the whole day, though, at the back of his mind, was only her.

It has been two months, and Naoko was still standing strong. By that meant, she was still insisting Kris to go back to class.
“Hey, you’re still here?” Kris smiled and lifted her chin. Naoko slapped his arm aside, “Woah, chill, baby, don’t get so angry to your ‘oppa’.”
This time, he was at the company of six more students, who were from Class-D, the last section of the sophomores. Naoko bit her lower lip, trying to gain control of the situation, but Kris wasn’t helping, not even the other guys.
“Okay, I had enough.” Naoko then turned and was about to open the door, when suddenly Kris pulled her back.
“Why, baby? You obviously need some of these.” He laughed alongside the other guys. She mustered her strength and looked at him
“CAN’T YOU JUST GO TO CLASS EVEN ONCE?” Naoko pushed Kris. He was stunned and his laughter faded.
“You’re failing for not going at all! It doesn’t even make sense when I can actually report you to our teacher that you are just here at the rooftop, admiring the view of buildings and clouds for two straight months!”
“Hey, what the-”
“No, don’t ‘hey’ me,” she kicked him almost near his area, making him crouch, “I did my best for the past two months just to get you in class! Don’t think that I am doing this because I actually like you, asshole! I’m doing this because I need you to know that you are under me, Naoko Kujo, who has a scholarship to maintain. And the only thing that you can do to help me is to cooperate. Now, if you don’t want to cooperate, then, drop this school at this instant, got it, baby?!”
With that, Naoko left and slammed the door. Now was the perfect time to cry. She decided that she needed a break.
~o~
“Hey, how are you?”
“Minnie,” she said with a quivering voice, and also shaking her cellphone on her hand, “I can’t-… I mean, I just, I need to talk to you, personally. I-… I want-… No, I need to clear my mind now. I’m sorry.”
“I know,” said Sungmin on the other line, “You had been cutting classes, too. I can see that he’s… Oh, don’t worry, he’ll be back.”
“I don’t know,” Naoko said, sobbing, “I said a few harsh words to him. I think it was, damn it was stupid.”
“I’m sorry, too, I can’t go there tonight. I have to finish the essays, right?”
“Oh, yeah, I understand. No prob.”
“Yeah, thanks,” Sungmin said, “You fought hard, and now it’s time to stop.”
“Yeah, thanks to you, too. Bye.”
“Bye.”
Naoko sat down at her favorite spot near the Han river. It was an abandoned bench, near the park and had a great view of the Han river. She cried and tried to cover her sobbing sounds so no one will get her attention.
It was hard living what she is right now. She can’t make her own choices, not because she can’t, but she wasn’t allowed. Her parents wanted her to study, and only study, and she tried to respect their decisions by excelling every year. She was about to stand up when she heard a familiar voice, apologizing.
“Um,” Kris brushed his hair up with his hand, and sat down beside her, “I was drunk. I-… Well, seriously, I’m sorry, and when you were saying those things, I kind of remembered what my purpose is on being here in Seoul. No parents, no perfect life, just me with a part-time job. And, like you, a scholarship. I guess, it explains that there is something wrong with what I was doing and I am really sorry.”
“Kris,” she looked to him, “I-… I had never been… I mean, I was brought up as a perfectionist. Everything must be perfect, no wrong shall be done. If there is, I must face the consequences. I know, I was being hard on you, and I was like a mother, preaching, blah, blah, blah…”
Kris chuckled and smiled. Naoko was wiping her tears with her hand when suddenly he offered his handkerchief. She smiled and used it.
“Look,” Kris sighed, “let’s, um, let’s just start over again.”
“What do you mean?”
“Hi, I’m Kris Wu. I like vanilla ice cream, I am serious-looking all the time, but I am just awkward since I’m a foreigner, I like girls who are good at cooking, and can take care of me, and I am actually kind-hearted and very simple.”
“I’m,” Naoko chuckled, “Naoko Kujo, I like dark chocolates, I am happy-go-lucky on the outside but very studious on the inside. I’m also a foreigner but I have lived here since I was five with my parents. I like guys who are older than me, who can try their luck on impressing my parents, and who are hard on the outside, but actually have a romantic side on the inside. I am also kind-hearted and very simple, too.”
“Oh really?”
“Why? What?”
“Simple? Then, you can let go of that Prada bag that you have.”
“OH NO! Oh my god, never!”
“See?”
“Oh, come on, Kris!”
As they were laughing and yelling at the abandoned bench, someone was looking at them from the right side. Looking seductive but very mad, she puts on a poker face and went away.
“Naoko Kujo… I will definitely,” Mashiro Ayami played her Swiss knife, “destroy you.”
