ages of pain, soaked through to the core

bloodstained skin; she cries out for more

carving angst into her skin

dying slowly from within

even now she lies in bed

forging lies throughout her head

giving, giving; never thanked

hoists herself into the river bank

into the depths of no more pain

joined and bloodied hands in this rain

kills what rots her slowly

loses all that can be holy

misused words and untamed thoughts

nowhere near winning this battle fought

open your eyes and see the agony

pleading with the sheen of gravity

quivering lips speak sodden truth

rusting away on this abandoned roof

still, she breathes, no answers left

thrusting a blade into her breast

under the stars she breathes her last

veils hiding the healed but scarred gash

with her last breath, her dying words.
