CHARACTER INFO

Character Name: Miharu Rokujou
Canon: Nabari no Ou
Point taken from canon: Right at the end of chapter 50, Right after Yoite fades away in his arms.

Age: 14
Gender: Male
Preferred Village: Hisato

Appearance:

Small for his age, Miharu is described as 'cute' by many that meet him. With a sense of fashion that many would find strange, he tends to let his friends dress him and doesn't seem to care enough to improve his tastes. He has big green eyes and short black hair that looks like he just got out of bed. Normally slouching, that only adds to making him look smaller, it can also show how he looks at his life. Despite only being 14, Miharu doesn't remember his life as a young child, he can barely remember the majority of his young life. Because of this he tends to act indifferent at times looking at life like it is pointless.

On his left hand there is a large scar that covers the majority of his palm. This is a mark left from when Yoite and Miharu encountered each other prior to Miharu's switch to the Kairoshu. When a woman attempted to read Yoite's mind his kira went wild and he threw himself in front of the woman to protect her. Even though it was painful he carries the scar proudly and doesn't hold it against' Yoite.

Miharu can be considered skinny and awkward in build given he is undersized and undeveloped for his age, However he can take care of himself, though activities such as yelling wear him out and make his throat hurt.

Background: http://nabarinoou.wikia.com/wiki/Miharu_Rokujou, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nabari_no_Ou

Personality:

Miharu has chosen to live a life of indifference. At school, he’s average as a student, and doesn’t go to any clubs (until he’s forced into one by his teacher and Kouichi Aizawa). Even in the face of death, Miharu is completely unimpressed and couldn’t care less about his own well being. He says more than once that his only ambition is to inherit his grandmother’s okonomiyaki shop, and he’d rather not get involved in anything else.

He’s also very smart for his age, and quite sneaky. In the first couple of chapters alone, he quite blatantly uses his cute looks and ability to act in order to get Thobari sensei to leave him alone. The rest of the cast jokingly call him a demon, because of his ability to get what he wants in this regard.

Beyond this, however, is the true Miharu. He’s lonely and scared, and more than a little confused. He wants friends, and wants to be liked. But despite that want to have friends, he also doesn't want anyone to get hurt because of him, so as to prevent that he acts cold or indifferent and builds a wall around himself to protect others and himself. But after he meets Yoite and becomes trapped by their promise to each other, his desires begin to revolve around the dying boy, and their bond grows tighter and tighter. Only through Yoite, who is dying, does he begin to learn to live again. at first it seems their relationship is simply one of submission to Yoite to ensure the safety of Miharu's friends in Banten, but then over time it becomes much more and his indifference begins to thin and start to fade away and most of all he begins to open himself fully to Yoite.

Miharu's indifference is so changed by Yoite that he starts to voice his own desires and no longer hides what he wants and needs.

Abilities/Strengths:

Miharu is the king of Indifference, he seems to forever be calm and collected to those that don't know him truly, but besides that he has the ability of the Shinra Banshou. Translating to all things in nature, the ability is a large amount of knowledge that has and can kill any user that has tried to gain and use the knowledge. Shinra Banshou has the power to grant any wish, and can either destroy or change the world. But unlike a learned art, the Shinra Banshou is a ability that is born within a user and it chooses who the user will be. Once chosen and born with it, it is near impossible to ever get rid of the art, unless the user is killed but even with that it would choose another to take the art. Though one thing few people know is that the art also has a physical form that only Miharu sees, as when he first saw her he wasn't sure what she was and from then all called her the fairy. In her physical form she appears a young woman with long white hair and striking red eyes, always dressed in a white formal kimono.

Mental strengths for Miharu would have to relate to his indifference. Because most of his life was a blank before a certain age, he tries to not get close to anyone that way no one would care if something happened to him. With that he is fairly good at ninjustsus, this is more than likely added because of the forbidden art, he can learn more arts in a very short amount of time. But also for his age he is incredible mature and intelligent.

Fighting wise Miharu is rather weak, he can hold his own if need be, though with his small frame he has trouble keeping up in physical tasks and fares much better in a physical battle.

Weaknesses: Like his strength...Miharu's indifference can also be his greatest weakness at points. Especially when his indifference starts to fade away with Yoite and he lets the other close to his heart. Once that wall is breached all of Miharu's fears and insecurities are out in the open and this terrifies him. So in some ways Yoite can be his weakness, given he was the first to break through that indifference without even intending to, but in the end one has to remember that Miharu is still a child and has many fears of his own. And once he states them he tries to avoid letting them control him. Besides Yoite, Miharu's other weakness is his friends. His biggest fear is someone he cares about getting hurt because of him and if they do he tears himself up on the inside.

Defining Quote(s):

"Perhaps at that time I was thinking of everyone, but now it's different. Yoite has always been in water deeper and darker that I thought. It's a feeling that I can't understand by myself. But...I didn't want to be separated from Yoite." - Miharu about Yoite

"I don't know anything about Yoite. I don't know why he wants to erase his existence. I felt that if I asked, the thin thread between us would be cut...so I avoid it. You resembled knowing that feeling you were in pain was foolish And kind, as well as in pain. You resembled being lonely...but right now...I really want to know." - Miharu about Yoite

"You're another me." - Miharu to Yoite

"I'm here!" - Miharu to Yoite

"Stay alive we could stay together forever, Yoite. I don't want you to disappear." - Miharu to Yoite

"Then I'll change all that...even then past!" - Miharu to Yoite

"I will erase you...so don't die until then." - Miharu to Yoite

"This is Yoite be kind to him." - Yukimi to Miharu about Kitten Yoite

"Even though I forgot...It's almost as if my heart is hollow..." "Isn't it 'cause you're lonely." - Miharu and Yukimi speaking of erasing Yoite.

"If it made you, who was always indifferent, use the hijutsu. Then that person's presence must have been important to you...shouldn't it be fine to just explain it as having been for both you and that person. Maybe that person is living somewhere and you'll meet again somewhere random, until you can stand up and walk properly again...yeah?" - Yukimi to Miharu about erasing Yoite.

"What would you do...if I used it...Sensei?" "...I would kill you." - Miharu and Thobari.

"All you ever do is hide things from me, and you're scolding me?! Do you think that because I'm indifferent you don't have to tell me anything? And you keep teling me to stop being indifferent! Hey, do you know why I'm so tired? Shinobi suddenly attack me, and people keep telling me about this Nabari world...that this Shinra Banshou is inside me and I should be the Nabari no Ou...and Kouichi kills people, and I don't want to see that, but I saw it anyway!! This whole time...I've been scared!" - Miharu to Thobari.

"I...will use the Shinra Banshou. I'm going...to save Yoite." Miharu to Thobari.

"I don't want you to die. If Yoite disappears, what would I do? Who am I if I can't rely on Yoite? I hate myself when I'm like this...I hate it." - Miharu about Yoite.

Action Writing Sample:

[Slowly the screen flickers on, at first the screen seemed to focus on the trees and tall swaying grass. The light seems to distort the image slight, making it almost too bright to see. It's not until the angle changes that the reason the device even came on becomes clear.

Sitting among the shorter grass is a small, thin boy that is curled forward clenching something tight in his hands and close to his chest. Quiet for a few moments before fully realizing what is going on and that this isn't home.

Focusing more on his face now, the video captures his reaction as it went from one of sorrow to one of complete confusion. Green eyes widening and looking around the scenery, the grip on the clothes grew all the more tight.]

What is...going on? Why isn't it snowing...where is...

[Panning out it follows him as he stands to his feet, still hugging the items, that can now be seen as a very familiar hat, coat, and scarf...familiar to anyone that he knew anyway. Almost falling forward the boy caught himself and began to walk forward.]

...Yukimi...?

[Looking down at the bodiless clothes.]

Yoite...

Third Person Writing Sample:

Snow drifted softly from above intent on covering everything below, almost as it was trying to erase everything and turn it to a simple white. Nothing was spared from it's assault, this included the two boys that sat on the frozen ground. That was how all if it began for the both of them...a simple wish to be erased. Now the snow was trying to comply to that wish, it knew this was the end for one of the boys.

Miharu sat there holding Yoite in his arms, not releasing him. A single scarf that was made with love and care around their necks. It hurt...It really hurt and no matter what Miharu did there was no way he could stop this...soon Yoite would be gone. The one person he had ever truly opened up to would be gone forever. But not only that he wanted him to erase him so he didn't have to feel the sadness of losing him. It was hard to decided which was more painful to think of... For now he placed those thoughts in the back of his mind enjoying the little time he had left with his...friend.

A soft expression came to his face as they spoke of Okonomiyaki, that was something he knew the ninja truly enjoyed. "I'll make them for you again..." It was like he was trying to assure himself that they would make it back to that village and live peacefully. Sadly even those words were just that a lie. Because as soon as Yoite nodded and spoke...he was gone. The dust that was Yoite floated up into the cold air, passing and mixing with the still falling snow. He knew that was the last thing that he would see of Yoite's body, but still he clenched the clothes close to his body as if he would somehow return for one short moment.

Gone...I'm...I'm alone....

As soon as it fell of over him, the text began to scroll over his body quickly.

'If you can't live without me...then erase me.' Yoite's last wish ran through his mind. He had to grant his wish.

Then as sudden as the text appeared it vanished and was replaced with feeling of warmth underneath his body. Green eyes took in the sight of the clothes in his hands...only under them there was no long snow. It was earth, warm earth and grass. Blinking rapidly he looked up to a completely different place than where he had been at just a few short moments ago. If he had been anyone else he would have marveled at the sear beauty of it all...but this was Miharu and he had just lost Yoite, the scenery was the furthest thing from his mind.

Where am I?

With shaky legs the young ninja stood, holding what he had left of Yoite, that seemed to be his coat and hat.

Did...I grant his wish? But why can I remember...did I not grant it...

It was the only conclusion he could come to, but he needed to find someone else to confirm it. Someone that knew Yoite or if he did grant it...no longer knew him.

"Yukimi?" Not bothering to call for his friend, he began to walk forward. Perhaps the other man was still near by, without the Kasa preferably. "Kouichi...anyone?" Continuing to call out and walk through this new place. All the while keeping the pain of the loss of Yoite hidden.
