...and it looked just like a dream

I had a dream last night that I moved back into my tiny apartment at OCU. It had been vacant all these years, and there was rotting food in the refrigerator. I was hosting a wizard rock house party, but the place was way too small. I decided to paint a huge color wheel on one wall, but my paints kept drying up.

Here is what Swoon says about some of the prominent images:

Food: If it was spoiled in any way or there wasn't enough of it, you can expect some reverses which will require careful planning to overcome.

Apartment: If the apartment was small and/or uncomfortable, you will have to persevere and try to avoid family quarrels.

Paint: If you dreamed of painting anything (like furniture, woodwork, etc.), it suggests that you are contemplating some activity that you would prefer to keep secret--think it over carefully before you commit yourself. A dream of artist's watercolors signifies important changes.

Colors: You can expect increasing security and success in all your affairs if you dreamed of a mixture of bright colors. Blue indicates liberation from worry and/or help from outside sources. Bright red is a warning to curb your temper. Green pertains to travel or news from a distance. Orange suggests that an expected change in your situation will be delayed. Yellow forecasts that setbacks and struggles must be endured before improvement can be achieved. White is a certain promise of success in all that concerns you.

That's interesting, but here's how I interpret it:

The apartment stands for a certain period in my life. There are some aspects of that life I used to lead that I would like to return to, but the fact that it was too small for the house party means that I have moved on (grown, if you will), and that life is no longer a good fit. The rotting food is things in my life that are no longer healthy and need to be tossed. I think painting the color wheel stands for a need to get involved in more creative projects, and the paints going dry is my frustration with my creative process (or lack thereof).

That being said, I like this interpretation: Hidden forces are working for you if your dream featured a wizard. ;)
