Yesterday I played my guitar for two hours. I'm now really good at "Blue Moon Revisited" and "Fear of Trains." I have mastered the F chord!! Hurrah!
I'm still working on tabs. I'm getting a little better. I wish, however, that this book had more songs to practice with and fewer scales. I'm getting tired of "Little Brown Jug" and "On Top of Old Smokey," and I just don't get the same sense of satisfaction learning to play a scale.
This teaching myself guitar business is slow going. I'm starting to think I should have started this at a much earlier age. Maybe if I work really hard at it I'll be ready for rock stardom by the time I'm thirty? Damn it, why couldn't I have been a prodigy?!?!
Also, if anyone is looking for a gift to give me (and there's no reason why you should be; I'm just sayin), I need a cooler guitar strap. Or maybe just a lot of flair for my current one.
Matt thinks I may have the makings of a wandering minstrel. Or maybe he was just trying to get me (and the guitar) out of the house...
