looking at blind people

Oct 03, 2004 15:04

So I was looking at some blind people today. We walked toward each other and then I moved so we didn´t have a collision. I noticed I stared at them a lot longer than I do at sighted people. I think it was because they didn´t know I was staring. I felt like a voyeur. It was a group of four young women and two of them had canes for feeling their way around. The Two in front were arm in arm. It was, well, I suppose the blind leading the blind.

In other news my Belgan roommate, that I have yet to meet, plays the guitar. It would be pretty cool if she just spoke french and spanish. I´m gonna buy "La Mala Educación" for 6€ today. There´s a deal with El País. I gotta find me some history of film and film techniques and film theory books in spanish, that way I can learn about something that fascinates me, while improving my spanish, so as to not be able to talk with anybody about it when I get back. I guess I´ll do some translating. My friend Emily, who lives in the same Barrio in the Albaycín, is going to have an external DVD player by way of her boyfriend soon. That´ll be fun to exploit.

Hooray for Spanish Classes! They start tomorrow!

So I was talkin´ to peachy peach about kissy kiss,
