Besides... you could always just go to Mexico.

yeah, i mean for the average american that doesn't speak spanish it's a bit harder. i wouldn't see any reason why you couldn't. it's probably a lot easier to dissapear in mexico, too. but if you're from california you probably have some spanish speaking experience. or if you're like me, and you're mexican, it works well too. though my spanish isn't half as good as mike's.
