toronto has been very cool. we got in on the train a couple of days ago and have pretty much just shopped and eaten, which is good because i do very little of either when i'm in new york. sunday was mostly spent at eaton centre and the surrounding area, then a little of queen street, but everything closes so early in canada, so walking around a cool area is pointless when nothing is open. yesterday we had to go to the US consulate for visa things, then went to chinatown - where some parts actually look like china, surprisingly, for dim sum and meandering, then back down to queen street for more shopping, until the shops once again closed extremely early. we're leaving tomorrow at noon, so i'm not entirely sure what to do today. i still need to finish a paper, so i guess today will be spent at some coffee shop or another, frantically typing things i barely understand and stringing together quotations and theoretical nonsense. oh, school essays.
anyway, i like toronto. it's not new york, although i'm not entirely sure it wants to be - then they'd have to get rid of the plush(ish) seat coverings on the subway and put 50,000 more cops on the street.
