Drove up to Athens last night to look around and have dinner with friends and go see Narnia.
In a word, beautiful. The movie, not Athens, although it was nice too.
There were things that I would never have thought to do but they really worked quite marvelously.
I was confused at first but in the end LOVED Mr Tumnus.
The only thing that I even slightly didn't like was that there were a lot of places where they changed the original dialogue and added in a few scenes or changed something for the sake of time and/or moving the plot along. But really I think that's just me knowing the story so well that I noticed if they changed a single word. At the same time, though, I know why they changed what they did, and it made sense, and it worked.
Furthermore, Lucy looked frighteningly like me as a child. LIke really, if I had a daughter who was like an 8 year old British actress, that's what she'd look like. And Edmund looks like a friend of mine named Eddie who's like 16 and lives in New Orleans, but, oddly enough when Eddie is like 23 I think he'll look just like Adam Thomas. Wierdness.
And I loved the beavers, and those who did voices.
Suffice it to say, I've been excited about this movie since I heard like 3 years ago that they were making it, and it was not disappointing. Go. Now.
