I saw some sort of trend with the first 3 items, yet I can't put my finger on it...
I watched the pilot of Heroes and have the 2nd queued for my viewing. I thought the show was interesting, but possibly not enough to keep my attention. I'll give it at least a few more goes before I decide to keep on watching or not. Like you said, the characters themselves are kind of so-so and it is a giant Lost rip-off. However, if the way the characters interact and the thread that unites them is interesting, I'll probably continue to watch.
Dead Rising is great, and I really need to finish it pronto. I too was being gingerly caressed by it, until it decided to bite and I lost my save and then failed a vital mission. Probably why I'm so far behind.
I've been slacking on the comic front, last thing I read was Hush Vol 2 and that was something I've been meaning to do for like 3 months.
You need to get on the BSG seasons. I'm really excited for the new episodes starting this month. Seriously, Battlestar Galactica is one of the best shows currently running on TV and it is definitely one of the best Science fiction TV shows ever.
I've mostly been going old school with my TV watching. During the summer I worked my way through both Buffy and X-Files Season 1. Now I'm on to Season 2 of both shows. Great stuff.
