[Set more than a day after
this log still in progress. Mozenrath is seen sitting at his desk, looking pretty much his usual self. There's an odd blur that crosses the screen that indicates Xerxes is there, flipping and swimming in the air with an odd energy that's not usually there. He waves the creature down, who obediently joins him at his shoulder and pushes his head up into his hand.]
So this is uncomfortable. There's nothing to rant about regarding the state of the kitchens, and the only person I'd care to have hear it is no longer with us anyway. The vampires aren't so much fun to bait anymore -- even the less sane people, though there are a few special, twinkling little grains of sand that will probably always hold a special place in my heart. It's never the ones you think, though. I've bested ports. I've read about a thousand books. Worked with half a dozen Wardens.
[He pauses, as if reminded of something.]
Oh. And I'm still better than most of you.
What's more? I'm graduating. ...Or rather, I have graduated. Not really sure how it works. And I'm not staying here to put another Inmate through what I've been through.
[He takes off his gauntlet, a surprising move -- and the skeletal hand is still there underneath]
I kind of wished this could get taken care of before I left? But if it gets fixed when I leave, that'll be fine. Or, if not -- I'll find a way to do it myself.
[He pulls the glove back on.]
I'll be staying on for a couple days to get my affairs in order. Say my goodbyes. But then I'm leaving. I'm going somewhere that there are no proverbial floods -- just the normal kind, and only in some avoidable parts of the world. Where if I get on a ship I can leave whenever I please. But most importantly? The absolute best part?
I'm going somewhere that I will never have to see the enemies of my previous life again.
[Private to Arkady]
I want to thank you. You've taught me a lot in a short amount of time, invaluable things. You're probably one of very few people that I instantly liked on meeting.
[Private to Tony Foster and Molly Carpenter]
This means, sadly, Tony Foster and Molly Carpenter: your magic may yet kill you or the people you love, quite accidentally, unless you find another tutor. I'd like to think I've taught the two of you enough to stop you setting yourselves aflame or making your pets huge or something, but you have surprised me before.
[Private to Severus Snape -- Martha Jones can also see it]
...This is the part where you reassure me that time is a funny thing, and you'll be waiting for me on the other side.
[Private to Shego]
If Martha's stupid television has taught me anything, I think then that I've learned that this is the part where I say "And I think I'll miss you most of all, Scarecrow." [Which just sounds awkward because there's no confidence at all behind it, because it's sentiment. He rubs the back of his head.] This was going to happen sooner or later, right? One of us was going to wind up leaving the other one behind. I don't know how you feel, but on the assumption that it's less-than-good, I kind of wish you'd gone first.
