no. it's a psychological mindfuck of a book. it's the literary equivalent of a someone teasing you (in a not altogether unpleasant way) for days on end.

it made me want to move to Greece.

Yeah and I think I lost my fucking copy. I even had a hardcover I found at Powell's from the 70s with the original ending and not-quite-sex-with-the-twin scene right before the trial. Third copy of that book I've bought.

It is fantastic.

I've read Fight Club and Survivor. I want to read Invisible Monsters and Choke, but Diary was out there on that 3-for-2 table, so I couldn't resist.

Yeah, I know. I'm a bookslut. I just couldn't resist..I saw Blood Meridian in hardcover and had to grab it (HIGHLY recommended by the way), then The Magus, then The Glass Bead Game, then I found the "buy 2 get the 3rd free" table...

I'm an impulse buyer, what can I say?
