I can't believe I just did that. I bought a ticket for a concert five months from now at a venue 2500 miles away from where I live. Ummm...okay, now I have to get there somehow...
AND!!!! Right now, in front of my very own house, there is a row of semi trucks full of who-knows-what equipment because THEY'RE
FILMING A MOVIE ON MY STREET TOMORROW!!! We here in my town have known about this for weeks but I didn't know the exact day until I was coming home from work today and I saw all these box trucks all up and down my street and wondered if this was the film crew come to town. After I changed for yoga class I decided to walk to the gym so I could inquire about filming status, which I did, asking one of the several guys standing around the box trucks, and I learned that tomorrow is the big day. Whereupon I promptly called in to work and said I would be taking a vacation day because OMG PEOPLE THEY'RE FILMING A MOVIE IN FRONT OF MY FUCKING HOUSE!!! OK, yeah, I know, I should just CALM THE HELL DOWN but I might get a glimpse of Hilary Swank! I'm going to be out on my porch all day with my camera. I already took a couple of pictures from my bedroom window and out on the street. Yeah, I'm lame. So what! This is MEGA EXCITING for my little town. And of all the streets in town, they picked MINE! MINE! to film on. I suppose I should be kind of offended that my street is being used to depict a seedy, run-down, economically depressed area of Massachusetts...BUT WHO CARES! THEY'RE FILIMING A MOVIE ON MY STREET!!!
AND FINALLY, yesterday I ran a road race in Ann Arbor, the Shamrocks and Shenanigans 5K, and I set a new personal record of 22:30, good enough for sixth out of 130 in my age group (no AG award this time, though). I set a PR in the same race a year ago, and on both occasions I drank several beers the night before. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
I believe a sub-22:00 5K is in my future...
Very exciting times 'round these parts. I don't know if I can handle it all. OK, now, I hear some noise from outside...I gotta go see what's happening out there IN THE MOVIE SET THAT IS MY FUCKING FRONT YARD!!!
