Yesterday on my way out to the farm to pick up my share I was listening to Met Opera Radio on Sirius. Mozart's Cosi fan tutte was on. "Oh goody," I thought. I know a couple of arias from the opera and I was hoping one of them might coincide with my time in the car. I warmed up with a little "Per pieta" and "Come scoglio" and then when I was on my way home lo and behold what came on but..."Per pieta." Score! I sang along with gusto and knocked out the high notes with no touble, even the high B flat at the very end of the cabaletta. My voice was very limber and it felt so good to sing, really sing, again. I haven't been under formal instruction for almost a year but I'm so glad to know my voice hasn't forsaken me. I should really start taking lessons again.
