Things have turned around since Black Friday when I got back my econ test with a big fat F on it last week. I got a flat A on my military history paper (only the 2nd time in my W&M career) and seem to be weathering the hurricane of work that is midterm week fairly well so far.
This week I'm on crutches because I'm whoring my body out to a kinesiology experiement in order to make $300 in cool cash. It's surprising how much pity i've been recieving (until i tell them I'm doing it for money). Some random girl I didn't even know stopped and asked if she could carry my backpack for me. Southerners are so polite.
I have a lot of options for this summer, and none of them involve physical labor, thankfully. I got interviews at the Salem Witch House, the NIAHD W&M summer history program for high schoolers, and the Center for Talented youth in Baltimore. I'm waiting to hear back from a history fellowship program I applied for in NYC, and pretty much have an offer from the Paul Revere House in Boston. I think my idea summer right now would be to go to NYC for a week with the research fellowship, then spend 3 1/2 weeks working at NIAHD,then spend the rest of the summer working menial jobs/vacationing. I'm finally realized the value of a William & Mary education, however. It really opens doors for students.
Next week I depart on a road trip with 4 of my closest KDR brothers to Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Savannah for Spring Break. It's gonna rock, especially Savannah on St. patty's Day. It's awesome to be taking a trip for spring break, and I hope it's something I look back on and tell people "those were the days." Unless we accidentally kill a hobo or something, then i'll just say "I Don't want to talk about it."
Peace
