So theres only a couple more weeks of school for my one class, I have yet to hear back from any of the schools that I applied to, my final season of collegiate rugby is over and all of this leaves me feeling that lost feeling most soon to be grads feel. I did manage to postpone these nonsense feelings for a year but eventually I'll have to move on.
The end of rugby has really depressed me. I realize that it has been such a big part of my life for the past four years, I've done amazingly and surprisingly well..and its over? It saddens me but at the same time I'm excited because I've come to the conclusion that I still want to play...and really thats the one thing I can say I for sure want in my life right now. What do I want to do with my life?...lots of things, but I do know I want to play rugby. My life is just not the same with the constant soreness, many bruises, the drinking songs, and the overall physical competitiveness.
So heres where this leaves me...first of all I can go wherever I'm accepted for gradschool or whatever other education I applied to (assuming I can afford it) and play rugby wherever I can find it in that area. But with my new found conclusions of life and rugby that I have..I really want to play with a successful and competitive team. A team that where I can still grow as a player and will take me to the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup...my new goal. I'm already in the system as far as being known within the USA women's National team. So a good club team can help me get to my goal. This means, not just finding any team, but some of the best. My three options:
1. Berkley All Blues
2. Glendale Raptors
3. ORSU (oregon sports union rugby club)
ORSU is really only an option if I get into Oregon State University. The all blues is the current national champions, but they have a huge team that might me left behind more players than anything else. Also it would be an hour (or 3 if I stay in Chico) commute from anywhere I would be living in California. Glendale, my number one pick right now, they just built the Infinity rugby stadium (one of a kind in the united states), and it's the towns official sport..the thing is it's in Colorado. Im scared to go that far, but at the same time It's exciting. Nothing is for sure but it's a good team, they have a stadium, and its somewhere new.
This also leads me to my new work out schedule which is basically 4-5 days a week. Running 4-5 days and lifting 3-4 days. So my new goal is to hopefully right down and actually do my work outs every day.
So heres my life as it is right now...confused as hell, but at least i've started this damn workout!!!
