(no subject)
So yesterday I got out of class (my last field experience seminar for the semester!) and got a call from Kristy seeing if I wanted to get lunch. I did. So we went to the Olive Garden. On our way there we got into a conversation about how crazy people can be sometimes, especially when driving. When we get out of the car to go into the restaurant some lady was reversing very fast through the parking lot. Like through the whole parking lot, it wasn't like she was trying to pull out of a space or anything, she was backing through the whole lot for some reason I'm still not too clear on. She almost hits us and a shout "Watch out!" at Kristy. After avoiding the SUV I say "Jeez" as in "Jeez that was close" not "Jeez, lady, watch where you're going!" The lady then yells at me "Well I'm sorry I didn't see you." Let's just say it wasn't very sincere. Kristy and I were going to let it go anyway and kept walking in. The lady shouts after us "Well what do you want me to say? I didn't see you!" She's yelling at us like it's our fault she almost hit us! She and Kristy start to go at it (thankfully Carter was safe at daycare, we thought about picking him up but we didn't) and she yells how she's a mother and she could have made her son and orphan. The lady yells "whatever, fat ass." Then I'm like "WHAT did she just say?" I'm really shocked at this lady and this animosity coming from her. Kristy yells "You're a stupid bitch!" The lady yells "I know I am!" At that Kristy and I go into the restaurant, crazy lady drives off.
I don't know, it seems pretty unjustified she was yelling at US for almost hitting us with her car. First of all she was going way over the speed limit for parking lots, which is 15 miles per hour. Second of all she obviously wasn't looking at where she was going. Third of all PEDESTRAINS HAVE RIGHT OF WAY IN PARKING LOTS. Kristy and I weren't even mean to her when it happened! It wasn't like "Hey bitch watch where you're going!" Maybe she took my "Watch out!" to Kristy and my "Jeez" to myself as me yelling at her? I don't know, all I do know is that Kristy and I were both pretty baffled when she started yelling at us.
Otherwise the day was pretty freaking good! Kristy and I went to a pretty cool scrapbook store. It made me wish I was into scrap booking! I have a lot of picture from when I went to see my sister in Japan that I never did anything with; maybe I should make a scrapbook? Kristy offered to help me.
Then we picked up Carter and went to Wal-Mart where I got a new fish that I named Marilyn. She's really cute. Female bettas aren't usually so cute, because they don't have the long pretty tales that the males do, but she's still pretty. I also got some new rocks for her so it looks like there are diamonds at the bottom of her tank. She's still using Mr. J's flower though.
I set up my tank then went with Kristy to get her nails done. I just watched Carter while she got them done. I might try getting my nail done sometime, maybe for my sisters wedding? Their prices weren't bad at all and Kristy's nails look good. Maybe sometime. The people working there thought Kristy and I were sisters. I think it was because when talking to Carter she calls me Aunt Laura.
Overall yesterday was pretty awesome. Even the thing with the crazy SUV lady is funny now! The semester is shaping up nicely. I found a study buddy for my curriculum class named Kate. She's one of the nicest girls I've ever met. AND she's kind of like me! We have a lot of things in common and mutual friends we didn't even know about!
One more reason to hate the pond at the end of the street: there are snakes in it! I HATE HATE HATE SNAKES!!! The pond is really gross and dangerous, why don't those people just fill it in?
Why do drivers feel the need to stare at me when I'm walking down the street? Haven’t they ever seen someone walk before?
I think that pretty much covers it. I have a feeling this is going to be a great summer!
