Happy New Year's!

December was a fairly nice month.

Had a clear dermatology checkup. Three years running they haven't cut anything out of me. Three years since I stopped using sunblock, and lay out all summer, that is. *rolls eyes* She said "Please don't tell my other patients that." LOL!

Went to the Newport Aquarium with our archery group - Bam was bored through most of it - even the shark tunnel - until we got to the petting pool. He saw those sharks and wanted to catch them, and the penguins drove him nuts. LOL! Poor Bam.

After that, we wandered the Levee for a bit and found a new store called Dragon's Hoard, whose owner has replicas of Zoe's gun, and is "Totally going after the Firefly market!" Going to carry brown coats, and ... *grins* Also carries steampunk, pirate, fairy, belly dancing, armor, swords, etc.

Tried to pay my parking ticket a day late due to them being closed for Veteran's Day, they doubled it to $100. I had $50. So scheduled me for a hearing to plead for them to drop it back to $50. Went on the 17th, and he dropped it down to $5. Yep. Five dollars. Woot! Very nice magistrate! : ) Who commented how much calmer and better behaved Bam is than his boxer. LOL!

Had a lovely Yule with the Norse tradition, and saw A Christmas Story - the play. Ugh. Hate that movie. The play was... cute enough. I never need to see it again, but.... my mother bought us the tickets to a charity performance.

Christmas went well. Got a power cord for my laptop, and apparently, there are occasionally interwebs I can hitch a ride on around here now. So woo hoo!

New Year's was AWESOME! Love me my Browncoats! Hoping next year is reasonably better than last, or at least far less interesting. ; )

The only downside at the moment, my upstairs neighbors' smoking like a chimney, using tons of toxic chemicals, all of which fumes invade our apartment and have had Liam and I living on benadryl and afrin for the past three months. Now that it's heated up and rained, so there's humidity, all said fumes are reeking out of the carpet, and it's just awful. Wish I could do like Lisa threatened, rip every stitch of carpet out of this house, set it on fire in the driveway, and stand in the yard, holding a hose and laughin'!

Makes me want to start looking for someplace to move. *sigh* It's just crazy. Woman has COPD. She should be doing way worse than us. Not only poisoning us, but then we have to listen to screaming, cussing fights all day Christmas eve, started 6:22 am Xmas day. Ugh. Pounding music till I had to call the landlord to have him TEXT them cause they couldn't hear me banging on their door with my cane, nor calling them, to ask them to turn it down at 7:30pm. *sigh*

Other than the neighbors, December was actually fairly nice. And again, New Year's was just wonderful. Hoping for a lot more facetime with my Browncoats next year.
