Phone dies for my birthday

I got several text messages today wishing me happy birthday, so I didn't think anything of my phone not actually ringing, even though I was expecting a call from my mother.

I finally tried to call someone around 1:30pm to discover my phone is dead/dying.

I broke it.... it's a flip phone, and the top half is held on by one slim wire. I've been holding it together to text or talk for several weeks now, but apparently... it's had enough.

So... tomorrow, I'm headed to Cricket to see what sort of new phone I can arrange for. I do the PayGo plan, which rocks - unlimited talk, long distance and text for $35 a month. No contract, no late fees... if you don't have the money for a day or two, you just don't have the phone service, as opposed to not having the phone service AND a late fee to get reconnected.

Which works for me, in my situation. But the result is.... people texted me Happy Birthday, and I can't answer them till tomorrow. Hoping they know I'm not ignoring them!

My parents took us out to eat tonight... that was lovely. Buckhead's is an awesome restaurant. Had the grilled salmon... mmmm. The kids enjoyed it too. Now heading home to finish season 2 of Burn Notice.
