100MSDCF I took this in a dark restaurant, by balancing the lens on the sugar packet holder, and exposing it for about 10 seconds.
The stained glass at the back was the object of interest, and it was back in a very dark alcove (in fact, it was hard to see with my eyes). So, the challenge of this shot was the lighting.
I realize that this is an extremely hard shot to get, and I don't really care for the photo itself, but I was just playing with the camera -- There are clearly composition and framing issues, but I was limited by the fact that I wasn't about to get out of my chair.
ISO: 100
Exposure: 10.0 sec
Aperture: f/5.6 (largest aperture the lens would allow at 70mm)
Focal Length: 70mm (max)
Issues:
Depth has been considerably foreshortened. I don't think there's a solution to that with the lens and shooting position.
Lights are too bright, background (the focus of the shot) is too dark. Although I did capture it, the stained glass appears dull.
What would you do when taking this shot?
What other hard to shoot locations should I practice on? (Like I said, these are technical practice shots - I don't care if the shots are interesting or pleasing, just hard to shoot.)
