I spent a few extra days working on the paper--an extra week to be exact. It's now in my prof's hands, or at least it will be when she gets back to the office in a couple of days. I managed to write enough to replace the material I cut out, plus some. Got to love font manipulation; it would have been more than 31 pages, easy, had I not decided upon Baskerville 11pt.
Now that the paper is in the prof's court, I have some time to work on a few other things in earnest. I've not been on the ball as far as the job hunt goes; then again, I did have a prospect until a couple of days ago. I could still work toward this particular job, but I learned a few details from a trusted source that has given me cause to back away. It isn't as if it's going to be a huge setback; I'm still not making much money, and the possibility that this would fall through if the right thing went wrong is too high for me to take such a risk. So, it's back to the drawing board. Meh.
Once I find out how much/little I have to fix in the paper, I'll know the application deadline. I'm planning on getting them started in the next week or two anyway, so I can have all of my ducks in a row well before the due dates. That's the goal, anyway.
For now, though, I feel like I can breathe and try to do more with my day that sit at a screen trying to be all academically profound and whatnot. Go me! It's time to write fiction, read a few books, catch up with people I've been too silly in the head to try and hang out with *cough*
dionysus1999 *cough*, and finish putting together my bedroom so it no longer looks like a frat boy's dorm room. Then again, for my bedroom to take on that appearance, it would no doubt need to contain tons of dirty dishes/biology projects, unwashed clothing, used prophylactics and a miniature castle made entirely of Budweiser beer cans.
I can assure you, for the love of all that is holy, that my bedroom looks nothing like that.
Insert "lots of books, CDs and random office supplies" and the description would more accurate...especially after I put the dirty clothes in the hamper.
