the Yale grad student killer had the same profession as I did at U of M.
From yahoo.com: "A law enforcement official who talked to the AP on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing and many details remained sealed said Thursday that co-workers called Clark a "control freak" who was territorial about the mice whose cages he cleaned." i can understand that. when you've got 4000+ mice to take care of in a day, and a grad student is complaining about not getting enough time in the room you're in, that makes you feel like crap. and those grad students never follow MI technique to keep the mice disease-free, and that's basically all the lab tech gets lectured on every minute. and here this grad student waltzes in and completely ignores it. i'm certainly not saying this grad student deserved what she got, because there is no excuse for killing someone (unless it's self-defense, which in this case i would think not), and i would never in a million years kill someone, and it's a terrible tragedy that she died. i'm just saying, i understand this killer on some weird level, and that makes me feel weird because that's never happened to me before.

as much as i hate to side myself with a killer, i can understand his motive. those animal technician lab jobs are too stressful and require employees who are neurotic. while i never considered killing anyone in that job, i certainly considered bringing harm to myself. i'm glad i'm out of there.

my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friend of the Yale grad student as well as the killer.
