Deregulation means taking crimes against the people and making them legal.

After graduating college, I’ve noticed a lot of things in my life have changed. I have a much more fixed schedule. I’m not longer stressed about how many hours I’ll be working. And I don’t have to write papers at home anymore (although I’ve pretty much already done two brief ones for work). But the biggest difference is how much I hobby on computers now.

I miss having a computer problem and writing a program to fix it. Now I just go “eh” and move on, secure in the knowledge I probably could write that program if I wanted to.

But the inspiration for this post is that a few months ago I acquired a new used computer. Anyone who knows me knows I probably don’t need another; the specs were a bit below my desktop but definately were above my server (which isn’t even dual core). The only problem: no video card and probably a bad power supply. “That’s fine as my current server has both a video card and a good power supply” I thought to myself. That supposed-to-be-new-server has sat in my closet for at least three months. Two years ago, doing hardware transplants was almost something that would be fun. But I’ve been dreading doing it. I finally pulled out both boxes, and started the work. I’m not done, I can’t find the screw driver I need and dell cases have horrid layout. And I’m not doing it because its fun anymore. I’m doing it because I need to get rid of one of them.
