What I Did Today

What I did today was get up waaay too early in the morning! Dan's alarm for work rang, he got up, got dressed, and left. I should have gone back to sleep. It was friggin' 6:30am! But, nooooooo... I could not fall asleep again, so I gave in, and got up, made myself a cup of coffee, and browsed the net.
What else did I do today? Well, it was this:
No! You dirty-minded people! I did not "do" Rowan... er... well, I did, but NOT THAT WAY!!!
Those of you with a LESS dirty mind are absolutely right... I REDID his faceup.
I wish I hadn't missed the daylight for these pics. However, I pretty much worked on the faceup on and off all day, so by the time the gloss on his lips and lids dried, and I put his eyes back in and put his head back on, it was almost dark.
What I'm please with: His eyebrows! Finally! I used a wonderful tip from a clever person on Den Of Angels:
http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4059 Although, I ended up making my own template/stencil for the brows, the method was extremely useful.
What I'm not pleased with: ... sigh... Well, there's the left upper lid, which didn't cooperate today - got too much dark stuff into the crease and couldn't really fix it, without re-doing the whole thing, which I just wasn't going to do today.
Same goes for the little smudge by the left side of his upper lip, and the fact that somehow the darker colour inside the lips just turned out uneven. My little magnifier lamp decided to poop out on me already, so this may be the reason I didn't see the problem until it was too late.
I worked during the day, with daylight coming into my workroom, but I found that I needed my desk lamps, and the magnifiying-glass-lamp, because my eyes get too tired otherwise.
Anyway, he's done, and he does look quite good, but I don't think he'll be getting any eye-lashes yet. Once I have a good faceup done, I think I'll give him eye-lashes.
Our kitties can't resist it when either one of us seems engorssed in some activity. They simply HAVE to come by and investigate, and participate:
Mauricee just wouldn't hold still, of course.

...until finally... he settled down a bit:
And, in case you're wondering, that is Frodo's bum, creeping into the shots.

...*sweatdrop*... heh... His hair is doing that cute flip at the back, and he's got his legs all crossed prettily... I think I need a tissue...
