Reminders of happy things...
My dear friend,
h_u_s_h_e_d posted an anniversary entry for one of her dollies today. She has had him, mostly in the same form, for 3 years today.
This reminded me, that exactly 3 years ago I was terribly unhappy, going through difficult times, but I was also awaiting my very first ABJD (asian ball-jointed dollie). The wait was another one of the things going wrong that summer. It was taking waaaay too long (two months), and finally I found out, without previous notice, that my order was simply cancelled. The doll seller that I was dealing with decided to leave the doll selling business, and simply cancelled on me.
Although I then managed to re-order the doll with another doll store in the US, and got her within 3 days of the new order, that first long wait, and the sudden disappointment still linger vividly in my memory.
Anyhoo... As I was still waiting, and worrying about my very first dollie,
h_u_s_h_e_d kept me company online. She also just got her very first BJD, of the same make and sculpt. And, her second doll arrived on July 19, 2006.
h_u_s_h_e_d then posted up THIS photo-story, to cheer me up.
I will never forget that, because it really, really worked! And, I NEEDED it so. I couldn't believe that someone I only just met within the past couple of months online would take the time to think of me, and would care enough to try to make me feel better.
