I'm with you on Prussia/Hungary. That's exactly what I answered when I was asked that question on a different meme. For me it's because it is a side pairing in SO MANY FICS that I read, and if it's in there as more than mention I just can't get over it enough to really enjoy the story. I'm actually kind of in the same boat with Prussia/Canada. So yeah, I really wish I could like it, but... I can't.
GerIta is the annoying side pairing that throws me out of a fic that shows up the most for me, but yeah I feel you. PruHun as a side ship to other het ships has been an issue for me, too. Like once I found this America/Ukraine human AU that I really would've liked, but I had to backbutton the hell out of there because Prussia and Hungary were married in it. And it's also just annoying because like. I ship Hungary with pretty much anyone else. But there's still this insane amount of good fic and art that I wish I could enjoy but can't.
I actually like Gerita, but it very often throws me out of a fic as well because probably over half the time I really dislike how Italy is written and he just comes across annoying, thus I end up annoyed.
Lollll yeah. There's one USxUK fic that I absolutely adored, and it started out with AusHun as a side pairing, but then randomly switched over to PruHun and I was sad (that aside, even more so than the pairing switch, Prussia who was previously likable in the fic just turned irritating and kind of... mean when Hungary came into the story, so my pairing bias aside I was like NOPENOPENOPE to Hungary ending up with that kind of Prussia).
I used to like GerIta, but over time I got to where I just. Didn't. I like other things with them way more, and idk I just got sick of the dynamic, I guess. But I blame no one for liking it. And yeah poorly written Italy didn't help in my case either. Or hell, poorly written Germany. idgaf if he's a ~seme~, he is not fucking confident in his sexual prowess. Stop that.
Oh ugh. Now that would just plain piss me off to the point of hating the fic, myself. But then. My AusHun bias. Let me show you it. Again.
