tbh, about what I'd predicted. I love fic writing but I'm so lazy about it...
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
Nyotalia gen. Writing Nyotalia always makes me a little nervous because I'm never sure how to characterize them. It's been stated that they're different from their Hetalia canon counterparts, but Himaruya has never given them much personality to show how they're different.
What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
I'd have to say the Halloween fic. It's me being typical and writing AusHun porn, and I got a very underwhelming number of comments on it, which really hurt because I'm so proud of it. But I just really love it and love rereading it.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Signed up for 3 Secret Santas. Learned to start earlier gdit ;;
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I have a plotbunny for a long, epic fic involving Soviet Russia, Stalin, Belarus and Ukraine being badass, murder plots, and espionage. I have a goal to have a significant amount of it written, if not have it finished, this time next year.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
All of them, but especially The Halloween That Was Hot as Hell. SOB no one commented on it besides people on my f-list, even though I linked it on the maincomm and manly_glasses.
Most fun story to write:

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Halloween. It's easily the kinkiest fic I've written.
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
None.
Hardest story to write:
Für Elise. The premise was a bit complex in that it tied to the human names that I chose for Doitsuko and Femstria being references to two possible women that Beethoven's Für Elise was written for, which was a bit difficult to set up and explain well. Not to mention the difficulties with Nyotalia that I mentioned earlier.
Biggest Disappointment:
That I only wrote 4 fics all year and they're all short.
Biggest Surprise:
Actually getting "Freedom Fries" and "Freedom Kisses" done in time for tricolores' birthday.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
....none of the above. Porn, America being childish, and me being obsessed with classical music aren't "telling" in any sense of the word.
