Part 2 of the report~
Saturday: Let’s Englanding Love!
Got up and got into Igiko cosplay. It didn’t last long because the wig slipped and I was too lazy to fix it so I just changed back into normal clothes. I was only in costume for like 2 or 3 hours /fail. I plan on taking some pictures later, don’t worry! At Kirkland’s in the mall with Rosie, in fact. I got my usual fanart commission, too.
The Hetalia panel was awesome, but kind of terrifying. While waiting in line for it, we saw an Elmer Fudd cosplayer. He spotted someone with bunny ears and was like “WABBITS!!!1” and ran off, then came back. It was amazing. The panel was pretty typical of a fan panel. It involved a gameshow that won me an Italy multi plate thingie, and a Q&A segment mostly. The Q&A was pretty interesting aside from all the people asking why this country or that country wasn’t in it. There was a France and England in sunglasses that reenacted the “spreading rumors about Germany” scene. What was terrifying, though, was that the panelists recognized who I was on LJ solely on the questions and comments I was making. The panelists are mods of the USUK comm. One of them mods
hetalia_daily . WHY CAN THESE PEOPLE RECOGNIZE ME?! They’re sweethearts, though, so it was okay. But that’s still kind of terrifying.
After that was more dealer room time, more bad grammar of the “Ich can ___ gut” and “Let’s ____ing love!” variety, and more hanging out with people, mostly Shelby. I did get to talk to
bluespikey for a bit, though I wish I could’ve seen you more, babe ;;. Katie wanted to go to the rave with her friends, but they took a while getting ready, so she went with myself, Brookie, and Rosie downstairs to play Apples to Apples. She left eventually for the rave, and Rosie tired out at some point, though Brooke and I stayed in from when we started around 6:30-7:00 until midnight. This game taught us that Helen Keller is manly, AIDS are addictive, and Scotsmen find Ireland irresistible, but only because punching Irishmen is fun.
After that we went up to bed. Brooke and I got into a kind of nasty fight over something silly that I don’t really want to go into, but we made up and ended up laughing and being cracked out again after a while. Then bed and sleep. But before bed and sleep, we hung my bras and underwear from the lamps and TV. This got started because Rosie was bothered by the clock glowing and asked for some random article of clothing to put over it, so I handed her a pair of my underwear. I was going to take pictures, but didn’t get around to it.
Sunday: Mmm, I’d let Rider ride me all night long. Also Boku no Kiku.
Woke up in the mornin’ feelin’ like P. Diddy today, assuming P. Diddy feels miserable and wretches in the toilet when he wakes up. I got up too early because I wanted to see Dee before she left. I was successful and we said our goodbyes and I showed her my [gorgeous] fanart commission. After talking to her I started feeling better. I went to the dealer room afterwards and found that the booth that had a swimsuit Rider figure that was out of my price range had lowered the price for Sunday. I didn’t have quite enough on me, so I called my mom and had her send Brooke to me to give me the rest that I needed. This figure is GORGEOUS and may very well be my favorite figure in my entire collection now.
While I was waiting for Brooke to get to me with the money, I noticed that a couple people were doing Jpop and Kpop dances. One was a Lavi cosplayer and the other was just a person. When I was waiting for Brooke, they did the dance to Abracadabra by Brown Eyed Girls. That song is addictive and that dance is sexy.
After this, I wandered the dealer room with the others one last time and eventually said goodbye to Katie and Shelby when they had to leave. From there, we packed up the van and headed home. During packing, Brooke and I took the long, cylindrical pillows that were on our beds and had a “swordfight” with them.
The ride home was pretty interesting. We got some gas and then headed down a road that we didn’t see on the way in. We saw a church in the distance with a pretty Eastern European architecture style. We thought it was gorgeous but were like “oh God we’re going to become one with Russia”. When we got to it, though? It was a Ukrainian Catholic church. Rosie and I were like “YAY ONE WITH UKRAINE’S TITS”. At some point on the way home I randomly thought of and said “Boku no Kiku”, which I texted to Katie. She responded “why did I not think of that?”.
Also I’m horrible. Brooke is afraid of heights and water. When we were on the Chicago skyway, I pointed to Lake Michigan and was all “ooh look!”, then played I’m on a Boat. We also tried to Rickroll a toll booth and failed.
I think that’s everything. We got home and Rosie failed at life and left her phone on my bed, so mom and I are going to take that to her today.
Miscellaneous Things: Why do I talk?
-Brooke had sunflower body spray, and she kept running into Russia cosplayers. There was even a Russia in the room directly above us.
-Brooke bought a dragon plushie in the artist alley. It was an Eastern style dragon; kind of snake-like. I was doing inappropriate things with it. Katie took it, bent it into a curved V shape, held it to her head, and yelled “PUT YA GUNS ON!”
-Katie is STILL the fanservice character
-Rosie has Union Jack boxers. She wore them with her England cosplay on Friday. Outside of her pants.
-On the way out of the hotel on Sunday, we saw a guy playing the violin. He was playing The Devil’s Trill Sonata by Tartini, and was really good.
-Somewhere along the way home, we saw Fail Road. I shit you not.
-We realized on Sunday that we didn’t write anything about things originating in Korea. We now have a duty for next year.
