Weekend recap
The weekend was a fun time. I was concerned for a little while that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it because of a paper looming over head, due Monday. Thankfully, I wrote almost all of it by Thursday and had only a tiny bit to finish Sunday night, Monday morning.
Thursday evening I went into NYC to escort my sister and my girlfriend back to my school for the weekend, and Friday found me back in the city to find tyrfing and get him on a train back to the dorms; my sister, girlfriend, and I then went to a Dir En Grey concert. This marks my second concert ever and my first proper one. I enjoyed it greatly, but the intense loud and lights and crush of people quickly wore me down. My sister had a fantastic time, but my girlfriend fared even worse than I: the concert, with all the associated noise and lights, proved too much for her synesthesia and we left before the encore. She still had a good time though.
On Saturday tyrfing revealed that he had indeed brought chain maille supplies with him and proceeded to teach us how to weave a 4-in-1 and scale mail. So the rest of the weekend, save for Saturday when we watched The Dark Knight, was mostly spent weaving. With these new-found skills I will eventually make a long-sleeved, to the knees hauberk for my planned Abhorsen outfit. (Garth Nix anyone?) As soon as I have the money to buy the rings and scales, that is... (Yule-tide is coming, how joyful I shall be~ When I find armor under said Yule tree~)
