Happy Halloween guys!!

Harry knew it was a bad idea to come to the costume party at the club that many former Hogwarts students frequented, Icy Fire, as soon as he saw Draco Malfoy there. He was dancing with some guy, and by the looks of things, there was much more than dancing going on.

Hermione and Ron managed to drag him to the party because they thought he “needed to get out more.” Of course, he didn’t think so, but they all but dragged him there. They’d even made him dress up in an extravagant Musketeer costume to match their own. “The Three Musketeers, Harry, get it?” Ron had asked, grinning, as Hermione rolled her eyes beside him.

Harry left Hermione and Ron on the dance floor and waded through the numbers of costumed people to the bar. He sat on a stool and asked for a beer.

“Why just a beer Potter? Can’t handle your liquor?”

Harry knew instinctively that the voice belonged to Malfoy and tersely answered, “I can handle my liquor just fine Malfoy, I just don’t want to get completely pissed.”

“Why not? Isn’t that the point of going to a club?”

Harry sighed. “Maybe for you. But I want to be at least somewhat aware of my surroundings.”

“Whatever,” Draco drawled as he ordered a vodka neat. As he tilted his head back to drink it all, Harry gave a silent groan. The action showed off the pale, smooth neck that Harry definitely did NOT want to lick. Harry forcefully removed his eyes from the offending body part and looked over at the crowd.

Draco squinted at him in the dim, blue light. “What are you supposed to be, anyway? A gay Frenchmen?”

“A Musketeer, thank you very much,” Harry answered, surveying Malfoy’s costume for the first time. “And what are you? A, um, rich person?”

Malfoy rolled his eyes. “Casanova, Potter. Obviously.”

Harry shrugged, and Draco headed back to the dance floor. Harry couldn’t help but stare at him - Malfoy was gorgeous after all, with or without a Casanova costume, and the fact that Harry had a tiny crush on him at the end of sixth year that had basically developed into love in the three years since the war meant nothing, nothing at all.

The rest of the night, men kept offering Draco drinks and he kept accepting them. Harry told himself that this didn’t make him jealous; no, not in the slightest.
Ron and Hermione came over a few times and tried to get Harry on the dance floor, but he refused, stubbornly remaining on his bar stool (and receiving a few dirty glares from the bartender when he only ordered soda) and watching Malfoy become increasingly drunk, and increasingly flirtatious.

Harry knew he was in for it when a tipsy Draco Malfoy came over to him and slurred, “Haaary, come dance with me, please?” And Harry couldn’t resist those eyes, plus Draco was pulling him with surprising strength. Harry tried to stop, but what gay man could resist a gorgeous man rubbing up against you?

When they had moved from ‘Potter’ to ‘Harry,’ Harry wasn’t exactly sure. It was probably somewhere between Draco’s turning to their side and Harry’s defeating Voldemort. Whenever it was and whatever the reason, Harry loved hearing it from Malfoy’s lips. He had a way of taking his time with the r’s that made Harry just melt.

When the rubbing began to turn into something more, though, Harry realized he didn’t want his first time with him to be an encounter that Draco wouldn’t even remember.

He didn’t know if Draco knew what he was doing, and though he knew he would hate himself in the morning, he pulled on Draco and led him outside into the cool air, which was no easy feat as Draco was resisting him every step of the way. Before they left Harry caught Hermione’s eyes and pointed to Draco. Hermione knew his real feelings and just rolled her eyes, but with a small smile on her face.

They finally left the club and started towards Harry’s flat, as Harry didn’t know where Draco lived and didn’t feel like Apparating them both.

As they walked, Draco pointed to a rose bush and said, “Hey Harry, look at those orchids, aren’t they pretty?”

Harry was about to correct him, but then Draco got an adorable confused look on his face and asked, “Or are those lilies?”

“Those are roses, love,” Harry answered and pulled Draco along.

“I could have sworn those were orchids,” Draco murmured in a small voice.

The orchid-roses were soon forgotten as Draco saw someone dressed up as a clown holding a bunch of balloons heading towards them. He ran up to the man and asked for a balloon, and though he got a weird look from the clown, he got one and ran back to Harry with a smile on his face.

“Look Harry, that nice man gave me a balloon.”

“Yes, I see that. Why did you want a balloon?”

“To give to that woman.” Draco pointed to a woman pushing a cart filled with stuff and before Harry could stop him, ran over and gave the woman a balloon saying Happy Birthday with a bright smile. The woman looked astonished, probably because some random person was giving her a balloon and saying Happy Birthday. But before she could say anything, Draco returned to Harry’s side.

They finally reached Harry’s house with no more drunken mishaps along the way, and went inside. Harry directed Draco to the bedroom, and with a lot of fumbling, finally managed to tuck Draco in. As Harry pulled away, Draco pulled him back down and looked deep into Harry’s eyes and said, “I love you.”

Before Harry could say anything, Draco was asleep. Harry didn’t know what to think and went to the sofa. He tossed and turned the whole night, wishing what Draco said was true.

MORNING…

Draco moaned and groaned, not sure where he was or what was going on. He looked down to make sure all his clothes were on, and sure enough they were. Draco heard a noise, looked at the doorway and saw Harry Potter there. Draco was dumbfounded, but then some of last night came back - the drinks, the dancing, the gyrating, and then it went blank for a little while before Draco realized he had spilt his feelings to Harry at the end of it!

Harry came in and handed Draco a glass of water and some Hangover Potion, “These should help,” he offered. “Hangovers suck.”

Draco murmured his thanks and gulped down the potion and water.

Harry asked, “Do you remember anything from last night?”

Draco shrugged. “Well, I know I got drunk because you were ignoring me…umm I mean…”

“What?”

“Nothing, nothing, why what happened?” Draco’s eyes got wide, “Did I do anything extremely embarrassing?” he asked. … like reveal my feelings,” he mumbled.

“What was that last part?”

“Nothing. So what did I do?”

“Well you were extremely drunk and then asked me to dance, so we did.” At this Harry avoided looking at Draco., “And then, you started to do more than dance, so I brought you here,” Harry said really quickly.

Draco winced at that, “Anything else?”

“Well, we were walking home, because I thought it might sober you up, and you gave some random person a balloon and said Happy Birthday to them.”

Draco looked horrified at the thought of him doing that, but then schooled his features and said, “There is absolutely nothing wrong with wishing complete strangers ‘Happy Birthday.’ Proven fact.”

Harry snickered at this, “There might not be, but not if it’s not their birthdays.”

Draco looked taken aback at Harry’s snickers. He smiled and said in a teasing voice, “It’s because I was with you Potter. You are dangerous to my mental health.”

Harry just stared at the beautiful smile aimed in his direction and he knew wanted nothing more than to be the cause of that smile for the rest of his life.

Harry decided he had to know if what Draco said last night was true, and being the true Gryffindor he was, asked Draco, “Did you mean it?”

Draco looked confused at the sudden change of conversation and asked, “Mean what?”

“What you said last night.”

At this Draco looked uncomfortable. Harry knew something was up. “I…er…don’t remember.”

“I know you remember, please just tell me.”

“I have to go.” And with that Draco turned towards the door, but before leaving whispered, “Yeah, I did. Since 7th year.” He opened the door and was about to step out when Harry called out, “Draco.”

Draco stiffened. Harry walked up to him, spun him around, and tilted Draco’s chin up to look at him. Harry leaned in, whispered, “Me too,” and kissed him.
