Love, love, love
I have just spent the entire day with the new love of my life...my brand-new, shiny, beautiful laptop!!! Her name is Tamar, and she is a Mac just like her sister Eva, my desktop computer.
Yes, I name my electronics.
My video camera's name was Lucy, but sadly, she drowned off the Oregon coast last summer. My picture-taking camera's name is Benji, and he has been my faithful sidekick all through high school until now, and I shan't forsake him for a digital camera. My cellphone's name is Gabriel, and my stereo is Mephisto. My printer is as yet nameless, but I'm deciding between Baal and Isaiah. I've been going back and forth for about a month but neither name is sticking.
Anyway, I love my darling Tamar, and aside from the hour during which I took my midterm exam, she and I have been together all day. She loves her comfy, cushy, extremely well-padded carrier bag but doesn't mind being taken out to sit on a comfy pillow on my lap. I love being able to be on the internet while the boys are playing on their computers; I don't have to fight for five-measly minutes of computer time anymore! And Andrew thinks I'm going to let him install World of Warcraft on Tamar...hah! He's lucky I let him close to my new baby. Sadly, I shall have to leave her home tomorrow as I have to work.
Well, enough of my pointless ramblings. I'm just so excited about finally getting a laptop; I've been waiting ages for one. And I've got her just in time for my crazy essay season, so I'll be able to work on my essays on campus during my breaks. It should make my batch of fifteen page papers a little easier to bear. Sigh. I can't wait until I'm done my degree; I feel like I've been in school forever.
