Ugly Betty: Episode 3.09 "When Betty Met YETI"
My sister and I just finished watching Ugly Betty and my sister made a comment that rings true..
"How is accepting a position that someone got for you any better then getting a position because you are latina ?"
I understand Betty's reaction to the thought of being picked because she was just filling a quota. But to give it to Marc, who guilted her into giving up her position, was just stupid. She could not verify that they were filling a quota, but even if they were she should have gone in and showed them what she was made of.
Which brings up the question,"If she didn't think she was worthy enough to get it because she was Latina why does she think she is worthy because Daniel got her the position?" Both acceptance decisions were not based on her ability to sway the board of directors into giving her a position at the school which in fact puts them on the same level.
On the other hand, Conner made a big impression on me with his rejection of Willa. He showed himself to be a man of integrity.
