Trigger warnings are not enough
Some of you have been following the FGM story out of Weill Medical College of Cornell and the vile experimentation and abuse of young girls being carried on by a doctor there. I seriously cannot warn you enough about reading any links regarding this. I've had to consciously make myself not think about it for more than a short span of time because I honestly feel I may vomit if I dwell.
However, useful article at Psychology Today by a female researcher who really sums up the heart of the big picture here: Remember: these are elective surgeries done because a clitoris gets labeled "too big" by an adult looking at the child's genitals.
There is not enough what the fuck in the world for this story. I rarely wish physical harm on other people but I would line up to beat the shit out of this man.
