havocthecat planted the thought of Lorne and Cadman running around the galaxy as space pirates and having adventures and shagging like bunnies in my head a while ago. So that part is her fault.

The fact that Radek gets involved here is all on me.

Yeah, but I'd held off commenting as Mitchell's initial sure of himself behavior in that one was kind of off-putting despite the really nice visuals. Waiting for Lorne outside and calling him up short when the latter is obviously set on avoidance pings an abuse-of-authority button for me, as does giving the order to service him in risky circumstances.

Cameron really walks a fine line for me in both canon and fanfic; just a whiff of entitlement and he slides into unlikeable despite how much affection I have for his actor.

By contrast, in the Space Pirates drabble, it's pretty clear that Cadman's intitiating things and neither of them come off badly to me despite breaking regs.

I just wanted to be clear that I don't think you wrote it poorly, or had Cameron acting out-of-character; your story just featured an aspect of his character that shows up in canon but sets my teeth on edge.
