hi, i saw your post on the breastreduction lj community (http://community.livejournal.com/breastreduction/) about Cica-care.
I too am using Cica-care. I am 7 weeks & 2 days post op and have been using the gel sheets for a bit over 2 weeks now. I agree washing them twice a day seems way too much. I usually wash mine at night, and reapply them after a shower. I wear them to bed and then in the morning I usually have another shower... I take off the gel sheets but don't wash them again. I figure I haven't exactly gotten dirty between my night time shower and my morning shower... but after wearing the gel sheets all day at work and to the gym, they definitely need a wash at night time.

Do you use tape over the top of the gel sheets? I know they are adhesive but I dont think my would stay on all day unless I put tape over the top of them.
I've only used it for a bit over 2 weeks but I think it is improving my scars alot. I have been posting my reduction photos on my site if you'd like to see them - http://www.muntedmess.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=24 this is the whole gallery. Jump to page 3 for the most recent photos.

hi! and thank you for writing :)
I'm washing the cica-care once a day too and everything seems to be fine. I guess my skin would turn red or something if once a day wasn't enough, right? ;)

I'm not wearing any tape over them, but I'm wearing a bra 24 hours a day and they stay on all day without problem. I'm still wearing tape on the under scars but will probably start with the cica-care tomorrow, if everything is still ok. Now that I'm thinking about it, I'll maybe also put tape ...you know, just to protect more the scars. I'll see how it will be :)

Thank you also for sharing your pictures! And you also were on a newspaper! :D Amazing!

hehe yeah, it was just the local paper in my home town, but it was still pretty crazy! The journalist found me via my site and saw I was returning to my home town for the surgery...
i'm not sure why we have to wash the cica-care so often, but once a day seems fine. i'm usually pretty sweaty after a gym session so they definitely need to be washed.

What sort of bra are you wearing all day? my surgeon actually wanted me to not wear a bra for the first couple of weeks, which is strange because alot of other women are told to wear a surgical bra for weeks afterwards. After 2-3 weeks I started wearing soft bras that clasp up at the front, and these comfy crop tops/sports bras. they are not too tight and the band sits almost an inch under my small horizontal incisions.

eheh, it must have been fun being on the newspaper for this reason, just like a star eheh ;)

I'm wearing this sport bra: http://media.laredoute.fr/product/picture/8695992o_aix.jpg
it's a triumph tri-action with front opening. my surgeon suggested it and I got two the day before surgery. i've been wearing it since the moment I came out the surgery and I find it very confortable.
