'What should I do?' she said, indicating a rock.

'Leave it alone, it's sharp.'

'But I'll be careful,' she said and bent down to pick it up.

'Don't,' he said and reached for her. She shrunk back.

'You're just jealous,' she said.

'Yes, but it is sharp.'

'Then I'm going to pick it up, since you're just jealous.'

'I'm not, it's sharp.'

'I don't believe you.'

She bent down and picked up the stone. It cut her hand deeply.

'See, I told you.'

'Why didn't you tell me it was sharp!'

'I did.'

'But you were just jealous!'

'But the stone was still sharp. Why do you ask me what you should do if you don't trust me?'

The girl was silent.

'Are you still jealous?' she said after a bit.

'Yes.'

'Why don't you pick up the stone then?'

'Because it's yours.'

They both left. Neither one would have a stone.
