The House of Syn
On with the show

Just over a year ago the WWA ran its first show at The Lounge and the owner, Garret, made a comment on how many people it takes to put on a show. He said he had never seen anything like it. When a band plays there maybe ten people set up, run the show, and perform at most. After the show we ran this weekend I thought about all the people who participate in helping us put on a show and thought I would give my readers some insight on this subject.

Before the show even begins I recruit people to help promote the up and coming show. I design the flyers myself but many people help put them up including my wife Melissa and my friends Chris, Joey, Justin, and Nick. Also there is the TV commercial which was design by Graphics Plus in Oglesby and was narrated by our own Curt Razo. Also tickets must be designed, which is our printer Rosy Jutrkas’s department. We need ticket venues so thank you to Gamepads and Midwest Video. Oh and lets not forget possibly the most important part of pre-show planning a venue for the show in our case the fine people at the Flamingo Banquet Hall.

Now that we’ve made it to the day of the show there’s still a lot to be done. Ring set up included myself, Melissa, Scott, Chris, Curt, Nick, and Jimmy. Joey and his girlfriend, made sure chairs were set up for our fans. The sound system was set up by Butch and the music was run by Eric, who also supplied the ring bell. Nick took all the official WWA photos for promotional use. Juanita took tickets, and Justin’s wife ran the merchandise table. Last but certainly not least there were 15 wrestlers, 1 manager, 1 GM, 1 announcer, 1 head booker, and 1 referee all performing that night.

Now I’m not going to go into details on clean up, but many afore mentioned people also aiding in that as well. So next time you’re sitting there enjoying a show remember although the wrestlers get all the glory that without the combined efforts of all these people an indy wrestling show cannot succeed. So to everyone involved thank you for your time and effort and to any one I may have forgot my deepest apologies.

Later,
Syn
