I know some of you don't want to hear it but....

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The stores are putting up wreaths and lights, the "Sounds of the Season" cable radio station is playing Christmas tunes, the hospital gift shop is increasing the paycheck deduct option from 300 dollars to almost 800 dollars and it's snowing in certain parts of the country. Sure, not MY part of the country because in my part of the country it's still 87 goddamn degrees outside but back home in Chicago, it's downright beautiful at 55 degrees. The only possibly bad thing about it being Christmas-time is that the holiday season = all sorts of activities. I'm the world's most anti-social person in the world universe therefore I loathe the idea of mingling and chatting up people. But there are bridal showers, baby showers, Christmas parties, Thanksgiving feasts and other various things to attend so I guess I have to either get over it or live a life with no friends, family or job. Speaking of friends and misanthropy, Spud, are you ever going to call me? Just kidding... sort of. I'm off this weekend but I probably won't be available until real late since I'll be at the baby shower, dinner and then the zoo for our anniversary (awwwww).

Like I said, I'm off this weekend which means I'll have worked nine days in a row which means my check will be pretty sweet. They are taking out 60 dollars for insurance and gift shop purchases (I <333333 the payroll deduct option especially since the gift shop in the Physican's Building sells designer fragrances and purses) but the overtime and extra shift differential will more than make up for that. I was supposed to be off yesterday but a co-worker had to have emergency surgery so I worked instead. They also asked me to work Saturday or Sunday and if it was any other weekend, I would but they've known for weeks that it's my anniversary and my sister-in-law's shower so they'd have to offer me a lot more than time and a half to work it. I am, however, scheduled to work NEXT weekend for a double shift on Sunday since I'm off on Monday & Tuesday for the so-called holiday. I have to work Thanksgiving but that doesn't really matter since Christopher may have to work as well plus I'm not a big turkey person. Christmas is what I'm all about and since it falls on my off weekend, I don't have to work it. It actually makes me like rotating weekends.

Wal-Mart's sells little frozen Chinese meals in takeout containers for 1.97 and they are super good. I just had the garlic shrimp and it was very filling with only 200 calories, 5g of fat and 17g of carbs. I hate Wal-Mart but damn, I'll have to buy more of these.

work, the holidays are coming, food
