Conan O'Brien is funny even when he isn't. He can tell a joke that few or no people laugh at, and then turn that into something funny. That's rocks. More people should be able to poke fun of themselves and laugh about it like Conan. After all, look where it's gotten him!
Last night he did have a pretty good joke, as most of his are. It went something like: "Yesterday the Secret Service caught a man trying to scale the White House fence. Yeah, when they caught the man they told him, 'Sorry, sir, you still have three more years in office.'"
Too easy, and yet, still so good. : )

I'm sure everyone knows the feeling of forgetting something you wanted to tell someone, and then needing to wait for it to pop back into your head, right? Okay. So I've seen/heard some random things over the past, oh... week or two. Everytime I go to post it here, though, I forget what it was! As a result I've probably got ten things I wanted to post here, and can only remember one. Grrreat!
Ohh well. I'll get the one thing down now and let the others come as they will. The thing that did mosey back on between my ears is about Catherine McPhee, American Idol runner-up. Apparently, she's among the ranks of Scientologists! Not just that, but she will be singing at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' [eventual, if it happens] wedding.
I'm sure anyone who care to know about it already knows, because I heard it myself two weeks ago. But hey, what the hell, it's strangely amusing. Or not so strangely. ; )

[political diety] Tim Russert was on Jay Leno last night. They spoke about Russert's newest book, Wisdom of Our Fathers, and politics. They brought up one thing in particular, though, that I would definitely enjoy watching.
So, indulge me here... who else wants to see Hillary Clinton vs. Al Gore in the primary for the Democratic nomination in 2008?
I DO!
It's one of those long brewing, never-to-be-duplicated type battles. There would definitely be potential for some nasty/scathing/ruthless debates between those two. And isn't that what people watch the debates for?
...
Okay, just kidding. Sort of. : p

I finished reading Killing Rain, and loved it. Another great thing about Eisler's novels is that they take place in areas I like reading about: Japan, Brazil, Hong Kong, and the Phillipines. As such, my knowledge of those places has expanded a little bit with each book. It's not a travel book or anything, but I definitely like the way he describes each place. I'm also envious that guided tours, meals at restaurants, bars, and clubs of said places falls under 'research expenses' for him. So cool.
In Japan, I definitely saw a few of places he makes mention of, including the New Otani hotel, in Tokyo [passed by it], and the Granvia Kyoto hotel [stayed there] at Kyoto Station. If/when I return there, I'd like to go to a couple of the cafes and clubs he mentions, like the Blue Note in Roppongi, and Tsuta, a highly recommended cafe.
I'm also impressed by his ability to gather information and intertwine the recent history with each story; stuff like the Japanese Liberal Democratic Party corruption, and the CIA operation involving A.Q. Khan and his terror network.
And that's more than enough random rambling for one post.
Oh man, okay just heard this on TV:
"Maalox. Kick acid."
Um. No. Fail.
Why are commercials lame now? What happened to funny commercials?
Okay done now!
Ja~! ^_^
